It was just announced that Direct tv has dropped FX, Speed Channel, Fox Movie Channel, National Geographic, and Fox Sports channels on November 1. Why is this happening? FX is the most watched channel in my house. There is almost always something on to watch on FX. Plus, I won't get to see the rest of the Sons of Anarchy season and now I can't watch Justified season 3. I am a racing fan so I like to watch the Speed Channel sometimes and I'm really mad. I was really mad when they got rid of G4 and now I'm just p***ed off. In fact, the only reason we have Direct tv is because we moved into a house where the previous owner had Direct tv because it gets a better signal through all the trees. It would have been even more expensive to cut off the tree limbs and change everything to Dish, so we just went with Direct tv. Now the only thing that Direct tv has over Dish is The Hub. Sure Dish Network had a similar fiasco with FX, but they at least attempted to and did resolve it. Direct tv still hasn't done anything to get G4 back.
Wait, DirecTV lost G4? And as for them dropping FX, that makes no sense since that is who does Damages with them, isn't it?
Last year (around october) dish network had a contract dispute with cablevision and fox sports, and I lost all the channels affiliated with them (I missed about 2 weeks of ou football and 4 weeks of various football coverage), and a while ago I was thinking about getting direcTV, but this made.me change my mind.
Not where I live. In my area cable TV has only 35 channels and out of those, there are like 2 PBS stations and 3 QVC channels. We even have the same exact NBC on two different channels.
Yes Direct tv lost G4 at least a year ago. Direct tv wanted to us to pay for it less because it was apparently one of their "least watched channels." It's unfortunate because I did watch X-play and AOTS every day. It also sucked more when my Game Informer subscription ended. Fortunately, I had Dish until we moved three months ago.
Damn, that kinda sucks. But you know I hardly watched any programs on those channels except for movies on FX sometimes. Still it sucks.
If they do that, then I'll flip out and by flip out I mean write a strongly worded and grammatically correct post about my feelings on TFW.
Hooray! Now maybe we can G4 back and we can get rid of that God-awful PBS. Probably not, but a boy can dream.
God to love those "edge of your seat or at the last moment", type of deals, but thats cool they have an agreement.
I don't have DirecTV so I don't give a rats ass about this situation, I don't even understand what the whole problem was in the first place.
