That put me off too tbh. But then, if you think about it, Superman's costume is made out of alien fabric that comes with him in the rocket when he's a baby. It would make sense that it would look slightly alien and different.

Oh, believe me, so do I. I've been a fan of Supes since I watched the Max Fleischer cartoons when I was just a tyke. And I still grin like an idiot when he pops up in Young Justice. I heart Superman.

Dude, I think I had the Fleisher shorts on VHS, watched that tape to DEATH. Superman punching the shit out of giant 50's era Sci-Fi robots.....mana from Nerd Heaven. Or that laughably outdated 'Dinosaur' he fought that seemed more like Godzilla. It was no less cool though, and that nice openning theme.

I STILL watch those things and still think they're brilliant. They shot with live-action references and animated to that (rotoscoping). Still a solid piece of work imo.

ANYWAY, I'm looking forward to more in-depth analysis of the suit. I've brightened and zoomed on my computer and from what I can tell, they've eliminated the red briefs altogether. So hopefully they'll incorporate some red on the belt to break up the blue.

I just realized how young Henry Cavill is. They seem to be going for a more mature look (in physical appearance) for the characters, what with Cavill and casting Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

I understand that, i really do, but it looks silly and the opposite of Iconic. Its a minor issue though.

Meh, not a fan of latex costumes, but this one's not terrible. I like the shape of the last movies "S" better and I wish the "S" wasn't ripply like the rest ofhis suit. I think the darkness is more due to lighting, but it's still ok to me. As much as I like my superheroes wearing lighter colored spandex costumes, they just don't translate well onto the big screen. I dig the biceps vein, but please tell me those aren't molded abs. Also what's molded on the outside of his thigh?

Not bad. It definitely looks better than the Returns suit. The real deal breaker for me, regarding this movie is the villain. For the love of god, have an actual super villain for Superman to fight. I also hope they go with modern businessman Lex, as opposed to silver age mad scientist Lex.

I thought Zod was the villain in this movie.

I don't think Lex is even in this movie. No one's been announced for it yet and that would have to be a pretty big role in the movie (bigger than Perry White which was only just announced).

I'm pretty sure that Zod is the main villain for this movie.

I think it looks pretty cool. I'm hoping after so many years we can finally get another good Superman movie. When done right he is such an awesome character.

They should mass market kryptonite necklaces, so random people can walk up to Superman and kick him in the balls. Dude has a cowlick on his forehead.

This reminds me of the George Reeves Superman, which I grew up on as a small kid in the late 70s/veeeeery early 80s. I like it.

This said, I also liked Superman Returns (To Be A Deadbeat Dad) and the Reeves movies... well, 1 and 2, kind of 3 and... well... 4 had a good book when I was 10.

He reminds me a bit of Kirk Alyn from the old Superman serials.
