Routh looked better as Superman imo. He was perfect.

That is probably the most faithful rendition to a comic costume we have gotten in a LONG time. Like, we haven't gotten anything that faithful since Spiderman. Wow.
And people are still complaining. For whatever stupid reason they have. :/

Love how it looks. I am now interested in this movie.

Isn't that the same type of material they used for the Superman Returns S-suit? I mean, I know how they love putting superheroes in latex since the 80's but I don't believe I'm going to get used to that suit. not to say I'm going to miss out on this movie because of the suit, but, oh well, what can you do about it?

Man, they got it SO right with Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Ma and Pa Kent, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El..and even the guy playing Superman was ok, but the SUIT?! Why do they always mess up the most iconic suit and make it dark?! He's not BATMAN!! I don't mind that it's not the fabric type the Chris Reeves had, fine..But you don't have to make Superman dark..And I don't care for how the shield and the boots are the same material type as the suit..ah well.
I know a lot of people didn't like it, but he Superman Returns movie was PERFECT! Brandon was a spot on Superman that worked with the Chris Reeves version, but I still am excited to see what they do here..

Meh, it looks alright. Still think they should've gone with Tom Welling and made it a loose sequel to Smallville.

Meh, it's all right. Definitely getting a better vibe than the Returns suit. Love how the symbol is larger but hate how they screwed it up. The modern symbol is absolute perfection. He also needs his manties; there has to be some red to break up the rest of the blue as another poster said earlier. I don't mind a darker blue as the Reeve suit can come off as cheesy spandex (the light comic blue doesn't translate well into cinema). And if I see anything that slightly resembles that awful DCnU suit, I'm out.

    To quote the Kryptonian himself-

"It's not about where you were born. Or what powers you have. Or what you wear on your chest. It's about what you do... it's about action."

The best costume design in the world won't mean a thing unless they can successfully tell a good story with it.

I think the lighting of the picture plays a lot into how dark that suit looks. The first image they put out Routh was well lit and it showed how dark that suit was in comparison the Reeves suit.

I'd like a picture with him striking a heroic pose in good light so I can see it propperly, aside from maybe making the costume colours brighter, I got no complaints. Roll on Man of Steel.

I'm not usually one to be like "The old stuff is better" But Superman and Superman II are the best Superman movies of all time. Its going to take a LOT for this to beat those (for me).

We've only seen one pic so i'll refrain from giving an in depth opinion. I do dislike the rubbery Supercostume, i disliked it in Superman Returns too.

As for him looking old? I think its just the lighting on the shot.

This is how I see it: I've gotten two awesome Superman movies (Superman: the Movie and Superman II: the Richard Donner Cut) and I even like the Doomsday DTV. So I'm satisfied when it comes to Superman. This is just the icing on an already very tasty cake if it's done well.

True, but based on Snyders past efforts, this will look great but the story will be ok. I still am not a fan of the costume. the colours look great its the latexy sneaker sole texture that puts me off.

I really do hope its good, i love me some Superman.
