Yeah, that does sound shady. If you have a link, I'd love to read it anyway. Might be good for a laugh -- or building anticipation, on the off chance it turns out to be true.
So my brony group has its Christmas party this Saturday and I popped up with the suggestion of someone running a quick game of Roleplaying is Magic. Turns out that the group leader liked the idea so much I'm now in charge of GMing it - feck. I've only ever GMed horribly grimdark games before so this will be a nice change I guess. I'm thinking of having a bunch of people use their OCs and have them as a team in charge of preparing a show as part of a Royal Visit to Ponyville.
So on top of Shattered Requiem im also writing another fanfic, centered around ponies, and i was wondering if anyone might be interested in profreeding the first chapters, No clop, but very adult.
Nonono. No. What you gotta do is make it unbearably Seasonally Appropriate; that is, As much of a tribute to Christmas Commercialization as possible, with a moral about sharing time with family and friends. Dooo it, then tell us all about it!
Guys..... is it true that this season is going to be 13 episodes only? Well I hope they make it damn good to make up for this!!
They did to save money (like hasbro dosent want that) They say that by having two seasons a year you get double the hype and appeantly children buy toys more often, yet they need to remember where fans too FIM wounldt have made it this far and to its height if not for us. but thats hasbro, wanting money. and adding clear plastic to toys.
That's...that's.. ...genius It might be rather hard to pull off, given that I know *nothing* about my players' OCs (hell I still don't know who is playing or not) but that sounds utter genius. I'll give it a whirl
There's supposedly something additional to the 13 episodes of S3, something that's a "1 X 66 min DVD", which many are assuming to be a Direct to TV movie. Naturally, they assume the world will end when it's done because it will be so awesome. This is so wrong I do not know where to begin. 1. Hasbro isn't doing this to save money. Yes, they CLAIM that the shorter seasons for MLP and Prime are a diversification of funding, since those two shows are their headliners for the HUB and they want to support other shows I.E. LPS and Pound Puppies to be more successful as well. However, if you notice the episode count, after two seasons the show is sitting at 52 episodes total. Combine that with the 13 episodes of S3, and you have the magic number of 65, which is the minimum required for TV syndication, which will allow Hasbro to sell the show to other channels (international more or less) to make even more money, but it requires all the seasons to be prepackaged and ready to go, hence the shorter season to get to syndication sooner. 2. Yes, the fandom for the show is extremely well known and Hasbro is catering to them (not like this is any big surprise, Hasbro is great with the fans overall compared to other toy companies), but you're ignoring the fact the show's only true purpose to to sell the toys to little girls. And it's working, because profit reports always mention growths of MLP product revenue, but no way in HELL that's mostly bronies doing all that buying, because a good number of them refuse to buy the toys due to show inaccuracy. If the show was not proving popular with girls and moving product, it would have been canned at the end of S1 with RoH being the final episodes, despite the giant adult fandom. 3. The Hell does clear plastic have to do with any of this?
What I'm afraid of is that shows tend to get the axe after that 65 episode syndication mark, with no additional seasons afterward.
With Ponies the smash juggernaut hit it is....I doubt Hasbro would let this franchise end after that many episodes.
Hhmm didnt think of syndication, yes i know girls do most of the buying, i never said it was bronys. But i just feel like most of their recent desicions have been rather centered. and while yes i understand that they are a company and cant always give their fans what they want, because they do need money to make all the things we love, it just seems theve been keeping to themselves a little. which i could understand as to the economy's sucky ass situation. and that annoying plastic, was just a joke.(PRID caugh caugh)
But it's 65 episodes. Why make more when they can just let the episodes air through syndicate and still make money?
Yeah Well...whenever FiM ends...I could see them doing what they do with Transformers and having a new series every couple of years, and I'm pretty sure it'll be quality. Hasbro won't let us go that easily.
