Wow, I just noticed that "Doctor Whooves" went from an Earth pony in Winter Wrap Up and Call of the Cutie, to a Pegasus in Sonic Rainboom (his voice even changed between the latter episodes). Maybe he really IS a Time Lord

It's also possible that he is part of a family of Ponies that consist of all three types. So they aren't the same guy.

wellll.... not really because you can have a "large pony" I am not sure behind the real reason for the different size terms with Ponies. But I believe it has to do with buying tack for a horse. Say you need pony sized tack for your pony. You can choose from mini, small pony, and large pony. You would have a better idea of what size saddle, girth, bridle, etc. Like my horse has large pony sized leg wraps. Because he's about an inch away from being a pony. His head is average horse sized though. So I would buy an average horse size bridle for him, say. But some of his other tack, like his girth is large pony. Although girth goes by inches, it's like you can't bring the horse into the store and get him measured. :| So you kind of have to have an idea of what size range your horse would go into.

Yeah, you're probably right. Though that would make this both the first instance of two ponies having the same cutie mark (as far as I can tell), and the first instance of two related(?) ponies being different types.

I'm okay with that, though, so long as adding/subtracting wings or a horn to existing models doesn't become common (one of the things I like about the show is the variety of ponies that appear in the background).
