Seriously, what makes this show so damn enjoyable?!

Why is the Winter Wrap-Up song so catchy? Why do all the ponies have big bright "Look at how cute we are!" eyes? Why does the show's color palet make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside?!

I'm sure it is filling some undiscovered and undocumented suppressed urge. Or maybe it's just the Power Puff girls connection?

Or maybe MLP FiM is not what most viewers expected, include me. I expect to throw myself off second floor 10 seconds into the show, and nopeI got a rude shock of how good the story line is and well timed gag jokes etc.

Now, I feel like a 13 year old self again, when those day let other caught you watching Sailormoon is like Parents caught you watch adult materials. NO ONE MUST KNOW MY SECRET !!

I love how they have a built-in "girliness suppressor" in Spike.

When the show starts getting too sugar-bowl cutesy-girly, he has the tendency to break the mood by making little pukey faces (often followed up with a scroll to get the plot moving along), and then someone will start breaking out the snark and the jokes and all will be good again.

But most importantly, not doing that aggravating "talk down to your audience because they're dumb and juvenile" thing earns it immediate props. And acknowledging that parents are probably in the room, too, so throw them a joke every so often (Twilight Sparkle "needing a drink" in the first episode being a prime example).

 

And let's not forget others like Benny Hill theme chase, Pinkie does Pepe Le Pew, and the dragon in Dragonshy strangely similar to the dragon in The Hobbit.

Last but least, I also seem to appreciate most of the background ponies and yes, hat includes Derpy.

 

How can you not like Derpy?

So, I watched the first two episodes on Youtube and I must say I am pleasantly surprised; I like the show. I never thought I would ever watch My Little Pony, but because of this thread I have. I hate you all.

 

Should this thread has "Welcome to the herd" logo ?  

 

I think that goes for pretty much all of us. Except substitute this thread for the Allspark version, in my case.

 

New episode is getting nearer, could only watch it at Saturday morning.

Yeah, since Lauren Faust herself was linking to the original PensivePine account on her Facebook page, I don't think anybody on the production end had too many problems with it.

 

I must admit to geting sucked into this show as well. Pinkie Pie's antics always make me chuckle.

Could always follow the /co boards on 4chan. They seem to be going through a new pony thread every couple hours.

 

They also created a Steam group. At least this give me time to catch up with downloading previous episodes.
