I think I'm going to let the mice steal the keys to my car so I can't go.

Looks pretty damned silly to me. The TF movies were pushing it, but giant robo kitties running around destroying cities is just too much.

Looks trippy. Have to wait and see about the movie itself.

To be honest, though I like the visual style, a lot, the cat mechs themselves could stand to be a little more bulked up. They all kind of look like ROTF Ravage.

I like how the people who comment about the design on that page are all "it looks Bayformer-ish" and such.

Kinda an interesting concept design. Still, would like to wait and learn more about this live-action Voltron movie they have in the works before I consider seeing it.

First of all, the "attack new york city" has been over done. Why the heck are they on earth, someone too lazy to design their home planet?

Their design looks too "bayish" decepticon like. Why did someone have to go and f*ck up Voltron too?! The monster is cool but Voltron looks like crappy fan whank rip off.

That kind of bums me out that after the Bay films, now every angry fan boy is going to associate this artistic aesthetic with him. Even though it was a visual style being used by artists before he ever touched Transformers.

That being said, I actually do think this movie should try and do it's own thing, viusally. I actually think they should go a little more solid. Especially since the designs don't actually transform all that much.
It's not like with Transformers where you need to convey a robot realistically changing from a robot to a real life vehicle. Here you just have a big robotic cat, that becomes a big robotic cat shaped limb.

I seriously hope they end up with a more classic voltron look or this is gonna be a pass.

The big problem is that no one understands super robots. You can't try to make them realistic. It just doesn't work.

The look works for transformers, but what I'm seeing here doesn't look like human piloted mechs. Though I agree, Id rather have Voltron on an alien planet than on earth.

Keep in mind that this concept art is part of a pitch to the studio's. They probably made them look like the movie Transformers as a way to sell it. Chances are that the final Voltron won't even look close to this.

Not really. The movie style was most definitely shaped by Bay. The concepts looked completely different during the very early stages, before Bay got on and steered it in a certain direction. Just look at the included images, there's a very clear shift.

Apalogies if you meant if the style was used before the TF movies, though. But I can't recall any other movie that had this style.

You know there is lack of Originality WHEN THEY USE THE BAYFORMERS DESIGN:mad  I was afraid of the Voltron movie more than TFs. This sez Bad Fan Rant all over it.

I like Voltron, I like this, but if they make a live action movie where the cats look just like they did in the cartoon, it'll just look silly.

They don't need to look exactly like the series, but they need to look man made and like a mech that can be piloted by a person.

I agree, it'd be much more original if it just did the same thing as always.

Never been a fan of this aesthetic. It always looks like on well placed shot will have a round playing pin ball with the mech's vital components. I'd rather see smoother lines, like the Iron Man movies' designs.
