I'm psyched about the fact that the Avengers have started principle shooting. This movie will be the most awesome superhero movie ever.

And this is the main reason why it will fail. It will never live up to the hype, just as The Dark Knight Rises won't.

TODAYOnline: Will your character appear in any of the other Marvel films?

Natalie Portman: I'm not in The Avengers, but I'm signed up for the next two (Thor) sequels if they are made. I think these inter-related Marvel movies are great fun. The Avengers will be like Ocean's Eleven with the superhero all-stars!

That's my big concern. There's so much hype for this movie already. It's going to have very high expectations.

Those expectations will probably get higher if Thor continues to do well and if Captain America performs well also.

I probably should lower my expectation a bit, but seeing Iron Man, Thor, and Capt. America all in one scene would already give me the goosebumps.

Oh, I'm sure some fanboys will inflate their expectations too high but just cause they get unrealistic doesn't mean it won't be great for the rest of us.

well, think about it for a sec: would you as Iron Man honestly go up to Hulk to ask him for his help in turning the tide against whoever/whatever without wearing Hulkbuster Armor or let alone go fight Hulk without it either in The Avengers?

No, I'm wondering how something can 'possibly' be 'confirmed'.
But don't take it seriously, I'm only joking.

No matter what, there are going to be people that will hate this movie. Thats just the way it is. You can't please everyone, especially rabid fanboys. I'm just hoping that it will please the majority of the fans. I have faith in the cast, the director, and the studio. I think they'll produce a great movie. And no matter the results, we'll still get to see all these heroes on the big screen at one time, which is something I'm really excited for.

Avengers is already my #1 most anticipated movie of 2012. Nothing else comes close.

To be honest the hype for The Dark Knight was the same as Rises(maybe a slight bit more of hype) but still I see your arguement, and as a lifelong marvel fan a part of me is skeptical its just something to good to be true but I think Marvel is ready to do this and I hope they succeed with this film.
Oh man that would be awesome my personal favorite of all the iron man's armor, I would LOVE for them to do this, plus Mr.Whedon stated at comic-con that iron man will have multiple armors during the film(or something among those lines). Also it would be awesome in an avengers sequel to do the thorbuster too.

With final confirmation of the actor behind THOR's God of Mischief 'Loki' Tom Hiddleston appearing in Marvel's The Avengers, an interview via HitFix, conducted during their set visit, may confirm past spoilerific rumors
of a certain energy source, as well the yet-to-be-debunked Skrulls involved with the crossover extravaganza.

At one point, we asked, "So we had a chance to tour the weapons vault in Odin's chambers, and I couldn't help but wonder… if someone were to steal some of those weapons and head to Earth with them, that would take more than one hero to stop them, wouldn't it? Don't you think that might demand… oh, let's say… The Avengers?"

Hiddleston [smiling] said, "Well, actually, that's not far off. What I've heard so far makes it sound like I'll have a great time in 'The Aven'--" and that's as far as he got before Kevin Feige leaned in close, and power-whispering something in Hiddleston's ear. The smile vanished and a suddenly-shaken Hiddleston continued. "You know, perhaps I'm not in 'The Avengers' after all."

Yeah, there will be haters no matter how good the movie turns out to be. But I for one am very excited about seeing the first superhero teamup in the cinema. Just seeing Thor, Capt. America, and Iron Man all on the screen at the same time will be mind-blowing.
