It seems like it's been forever since we've seen Mumm-Ra.

It would be far more awesome if the figure followed the sheet they initally posted FOR REFERENCE and had removable/add on "accessories" to replicate as such :D

Actually in the old days that was 2 seasons, sometimes only 1. The average cartoon season was 26 episodes. That way they could reach sydication in 3 or 4 seasons. Some series would start with a 5 episode mini series, then if it did well the company would order 52 episodes.

Companies have been cheap in the past 10 years often only ordering 12 episodes per season, but they quickly found out that you can't re-run 12 episodes for long without your audience getting sick of the series.

So many recent series have started back with the 26 episodes per season order.

What you have seen recently though is the seasons coming out in chunks 5 episodes here, 6 there as their finished. So with the breaks seasons are seeming shorter than they are. Companies don't want to wait for the seasons to finish to show episodes. But doing it this way does allow less time lag where viewers become sick of the reruns.

It also lets them order a second season while season 1 is still in production. Though it can mean a larger work load for the animators, but it does mean that they can stay on the show longer.

Good point. I noticed that the writers also mentioned they'd be doing 13 episodes story arcs, which gives us at least an ending/resolution in a shorter period of time. That's going to keep fans interested easier, since they don't have to wait so long for a payoff.

You make it sound like that's a bad thing. :popcorn :

Okay saw the Berbils episode: Quote of the show? "HUG!"

Loved the A-Team montage. (If only they'd manage to sneak in the music,,,)

The Kits on Candyfruit? My god man,,, it's WEAPONIZED Candyfruit!

I was a little bit disapointed by the Berbils models though. The original Berbils seemed more alien and robotic and only tangentally resembling teddybears.

Whereas the new ones seem very deliberately bear like:

Still I love me some Berbils, and I actually liked this ep better than the Elephant one.

I do have some critacizm of the "choreography" of the Thundertank battle. I really wish the animtors had done a better job researching vehicle collisions. And I kinda didn't like the "magic claw attack" when the Thundertank had a BFG that could have stopped the "carnaval train" a lot more deliberately. And the Conqadore was using glue-gun weapons vs. the Tank's energy cannon? Really should have been over once Pantro got a clean shot.

As it was I didn't like how the claws were able to flip the slaver from such a bad angle. Seemed somewhat ridiculous to me. (and nothing in that combat sequence had anything to do with engine power, despite what dialog was written. Armor, toughness, and handling, but not HP. Just a minor nit.)

Still really fun. As Gir once said, "I love this show!"

I was slightly too old for Thundercats when it first came out, they never did that much for me, but damn, this new show is the shit. The characters are engaging, the writing is great, and the animation is spot on, best of all they didn't just minimize the old characters that were annoying, like Willykit/Willykat, they made them in to characters that I now enjoy. I feel kinda slighted that Transformers can't seem to get a reboot that's worth a damn to me.

    Also, Tygra is badass.

yes tygra is awesome in this series! i like him better then lionO, even if he is an ass :lol

but willy kit and cat are still my favorite characters. then panthro. though i still think panthro would of been better off voiced by Beau Billingslea, rather then Richardson. but he still does a great job!

yea! they are cute! and they act just like real kids! rather then act like cartoon kids. *also most commonly what makes them annoying, is that they tend to NOT act like real kids in cartoons* but they do act like real kids! kids mixed with curious little kittens! love it! and they can hold their own in battle too! and other things. they become useful like in the elephant episode. rather then just there to be there, or there just to be rescued when they get into trouble. no THIS TIME they, or more so, SHE saved lionO and the others when THEY get into trouble!

big change since the first series. totally love it! and i love how they're starting to get more into the back stories of the individual thundercats, and try to expand their characters too. even if it was just a filler episode, mainly used to introduce new animals. just like the last one was just to introduce the teddy bears. but it works so well! these filler episodes are not like other filler episodes of other series. they do have meaning in the plot, they do have character development, that seemingly stays after the episode, and they do further the plot at least a little.

these are not stereotype fillers at all. and they are fun to watch too! i just hope we get more then 52 episodes! i hope we get a whole lot more episodes then even the original! great story! great characters! great everything!

^Couldn't have said it better myself. :)  It is refreshing for a change to watch a show without one particular character just grating on my nerves. The kittens...hell everyone so far on the main cast are awesome and enjoyable to watch.

I'm not going to lie, Wily Kit/Kat are getting slightly less... fun for me. It might be Wily Kat's voice (his VA is not a very good VA, but dammit he's trying) or it might be that they're pretty one-dimensional. I'm still far from disliking them, though.

The animators sure have fun with Cheetarah. XD I loved the episode! The elephants were funny. I guess now starts the theory that Ganesh came from outer space, right? ^^ Just kidding, pals.
The whole musical scene was priceless. ;)

I too love the kittens because they act like real kids instead of small adults. They are little trouble makers and so cute too. I want to hug the little guys. I could watch an entire series around them.

Definitely a fan of the kittens. Especially when they're tweaking on candyfruit. :D

Yeah, the kittens are actually really fun to watch. The episode that really sold me on the show was the Petalars. I was amazed at the emotions that story could bring about. Yes it was a filler story, but it was crucial in teaching Lion-O and making him a better leader. I also loved the Drifter story, so far all the episodes have been great and I hope they keep getting better.

I agree, I had a lot of fun watching this past episode. I think I've said it before, go find this animation studios prior work Oban Star Racers. It's like they all drank the Hayao Miyazaki Kool-Ade with the character designs and frame work, and put it into a French animation, but it works so well. There are points where I just don't even care about the Book of Omens quest because the world development is so well done.
