For what it's worth, there are a couple small differences in Spidey's outfit in the Ultimate series; it's a noticeably tighter fit and has much larger eyes.

I've yet to form any solid stance on this news...for now I'm just really disappointed, like others, that this likely means the end of Spectacular. So I'm hoping they'll find a way to simply make it a continuation of where Spectacular Spider-Man left off.

I am REALLY sad to see Spectacular end on a cliff hanger. At the same time, if they stay true to the Ultimate comic's slightly darker tone and amazing humor (seriously, I've busted out laughing way too many times to count with USM), this show will do great. I REALLY hope they don't dumb down the show to Brave and the Bold levels.

 

Ugh. Nothing has been as good as the 90's Spiderman.

 

the 90s toon wasn't bad, especially for the day, but Spectacular was, in my opinion, far superior in both story and writing.

 

While I agree that Spider-Man need not be done in an anime style I would like to point out that DBZ is not representitve of all anime.

 

now there's a rumor going on Toonzone Forums that Wolverine and the X-men is unlikely to get a Season 2.

They were bought by Disney, now Disney wants their companies to do the projects. That simple.

 

This to the max. I can't believe that anyone is shocked that the pre-Disney sale Marvel toons are getting canned in favor of Disney developed ones.

NO.......,i really liked spectacular Spider-Man ,i will give this a shot though.

 

  First Animated, now Spectacular Spiderman. Though I just barely found this thread, and looks like it was hacked months ago.

So Animated and Spiderman had awesome writing, well-developed characters, and very mature most of the time. Yet they're both hacked out to make room for crap like Generator Rex, ANOTHER Ben 10 series, and this Ultimate Spiderman series is basically Batman: Brave and the Bold with Spiderman.  

Not saying anything's wrong with Batman Brave and the Bold. Just Spidey's about to rip it off.

 

No offense but you're just hearing of this today? It's been well over a year since season 2 of Spectacular finished.

We get iron fist, but it looks to be a teen version, and as shown at conventions last year, ultimate Spider-man will often be teamed up with multiple young heroes.


So they can sell more toys more than likely.

It and the avengers come back April first, so a little over a month left.

 

Well, I lost a bit of hope for this show when I saw the promo on youtube.

 

Iron Fist...interesting. So we'll be seeing the Heroes for Hire then?

 

Not unless they have a teen luke cage.
