Damn I guess Spectacular Spidey is dead now =(
I'm a fan of the Ultimate comics so I guess it sounds cool, it's just hard to move on from Spectacular SM

Aren't Ultimate and Regular Spider-Man's costumes pretty much identical?
This is the end for you!

Hell no. That crap is part of what's wrong with the anime industry. The last thing we need is Spiderman suffering from a case of DBZ syndrome.

Very few Marvel superhero series in the past few years have gotten past two seasons and most seasons are 12 episodes these days, Ultimate Spidey is well into the 100's, it's unlikely they will get that far. So they would be unlikely to run out of episodes. If they got that far I'd be amazed.

Yes I had the enemies and team ups in mind when I made the costume comment as in the Ultimate, Ozbourne, Blade and X-Men looks.

DBZ syndrome is just filler, chances are this series will end before it hits 60 episodes with over 100 issues to work with each around 2x as many pages as a manga chapter there is no way filler would be needed if marvel studios adapts faithfully.

Marvel Animation has announced at the MIPTV conference in that they will be launching an animated take on Ultimate Spider-Man for Disney XD beginning in 2011.

Marvel Animation president Eric S. Rollman told conference co-sponsor Worldscreen.com that “Ultimate Spider-Man will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth."

Ultimate Spider-Man was Brian Michael Bendis' breakout work at Marvel Comics in 2000, as he worked with seminal Spider-Man artist Mark Bagley. Their stories, which were characterized by naturalistic dialogue and long-form "decompressed" storytelling, focused on a teenage Peter Parker in a contemporary world. The series was relaunched last year as Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, with David LaFuente heading art duties.

This new series comes after Sony gave up the rights to the animated series Spectacular Spider-Man in September of 2009. The series, which was spearheaded by Gargoyles's Greg Weisman, ran on Kids WB for two seasons. The scuttling of the project took place just after Disney purchased Marvel Comics for $4 billion.
i really enjoyed the original Ultimate Spider-Man title (actually was the best SM title at the time)...so if its really close to that, i'd watch this.

I loved the video game, and I still have the first issue of the comic. Can't wait to see this. Sucks about Spectacular Spider-Man though.
