The first movie did that fine, and the second movie handled Doc Oc just fine to, so I really don't want to sit through a couple origin/early career movies again before we get to his more fun villians. |

His Spider-Man films have run the gamut from "unwatchable" to "tolerable" back to "completely unwatchable", so it'll be good to get him off the franchise and bring in someone who might actually do a good job with it. Probably the only thing I'd keep from the Raimi versions would be to bring in Alfred Molini as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin again, if they decide to use those villains in the reboots. On the other hand, I really hope they aren't going to do Spider-Man's origin again. Along with Superman and Batman, I think Spider-Man is one of those characters where almost everyone has at least some working knowledge of his origin. Just start the movie with him already having powers and having started as Spider-Man, maybe with a quick montage of the origin over the opening credits or something, and get into the meat of the story. |

I was hoping they would at least attempt to make four before going to a reboot, which was a back-up plan for 5 & 6 if 4 bombed. I'm kinda worried they'll have trouble finding good replacement actors/actresses. Not that the entire cast of the first three were perfect, but there were at least a few gems in the bunch. Most notably, imo, is J. K. Simmons. He's the perfect actor to play J. Jonah Jameson, tbh. On a side note, I'm hoping this doesn't mess with the plans to make a Venom movie. Which last I heard was, unlike Spidey 4, doing quite well in it's planning stages. |

I've never understood how Raimi and McGuire ended up in a major comicbook franchise. Maybe now we'll get a Spidey film that is actually fun to watch. Celebration! |

I really liked the first one, and liked the second one even more. The third one, while they tried cramming as much in as possible...I didn't hate it. In fact I did like the third one. The way I look at it, why is it that the only resorts anymore are to do reboots? I'm just saying... ![]() Click sig for comics! |
