To tell you the truth, I'm not surprised by this. I thought his primetime show sucked. Source: NBC weighing Leno return to late-night - Yahoo! News
This. Leno was never a top-tier host for me. I preferred Jimmy Fallon, and that says something. His new show is just boring. Long live Conan, the NEW Oprah!
I think its funny that Fallon is so bad at his monologue, that they had to shorten it. The longer it goes, the worse he gets.
This doesn't suprise me one bit at all. I like Jay but I forgot about the 9pm slot because I am useally watching something else around that time slot.
Good. Conan O'Brien isn't really good with opening monologues anyway. And Jimmy Fallon...oh God, just don't let him do the Late Show. Ever.
I love Conan and cannot stand Leno, but I could be down with this. Leno's show as it is now is killing the ratings for everything after it - local news and the Tonight Show (this is why the affiliates are raging). Moving Leno back to 10:35 will likely lessen that drag factor and possibly even draw in some of his old (and I mean that both as "former" and "aged") audience. This may give Conan a better lead-in and improve his ratings. If it turns out like that it would be good for everybody, and I can deal with that. Although I still think Leno should stop being a baby and just retire already.
Good point, another good thing is that if Conan is on later then maybe they can bring back some of the old Late Night sketches like The Masturbating Bear or Fake celebrity interviews.
So Leno will be a half hour now and start at 11:30 while Conan will start 30 minutes later at 12:00 (or so this is what NBC is hoping to do?) Well now the 10 timeslot will be open for new shows
