The second episode was a bit weaker since I was obviously more interested in what Rick has been up to since he left the show than Michonne. But basically everything about where she’s been has been cleared up. It also establishes she’s been away from Alexandria for a year. Story was very predictable though, but damn the reveal of what shot down Rick’s helicopter was fucking awesome. The CRM are fucking terrorists. The Spoiler Richonne reunion was worth the wait. And fuck Jadis.
Tonight’s episode was really great. Andy was fucking amazing. I think sometimes it got a bit too convenient but I liked that this episode called back so much to TWD, even going back to Rick’s failed marriage with Lori to show how this marriage could turn out. With two episodes left I’m sure there’ll be another season and many more because they’re not wrapping up the franchise any time soon. At least with the Infinity Saga and even the Multiverse Saga, there were roadmaps or in the case of the latter, something slowly resembling a roadmap.
Another good episode. Spoiler The return of Gabriel was a massive fucking shock. And the death of Jadis was okay. I seriously would be surprised if this doesn’t get another season or just keep going in general. Unless they really decide to just end it with a whimper like World Beyond’s “war” was just a small firefight.
This episode is where it lost my interest. Wasn't bad, but what's the end game here? After this, they'll keep wandering? Another death? Meh That touch of "Last of Us-esque" Spoiler hard shell mutationon a zombie seemed like it could go somewhere. I wonder if they'll do a Endgame type of mini series with Morgan, Madison, Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Negan, and Maggie.
The end of episode 5 of the Rick and Michone Show, was a bit of a shock. I expected a change of heart in one of the characters, not what ultimately hapened.
I really have to give props to Beale’s actor because his monologue was fantastic and chilling. That whole sequence was amazing. It confirmed a lot of what I had already suspected but Beale’s delivery made it so, so much worse and I love it for how uncomfortable it made me feel. That was probably the best scene of the six episode series besides Rick and Okafor’s fight. The show kinda ends with a whimper, a bit. There’s still action but it does really Spoiler wrap up the CRM very nice and tidy and offscreen in a quick news briefing afterwards. It’s not as bad as when Fear constantly ended scenes early and had characters explain to somebody else who conveniently passed out what happened after the fact, it certainly makes more sense than anything that abomination of a show did. Spoiler The CRM was decapitated even if it’s convenient that the show hurriedly tells us it’s all good. It was a very tense episode but if you were expecting Spoiler a final battle with the CRM that doesn’t happen. That is just too large scale of a conflict than what this franchise can handle portraying even with the strain of COVID gone. They’re just not interested in trying to make it happen. While the spin offs are certainly suggesting future wars will come between civilizations, we probably will not get something like an Endgame. I’m sure they’ll reunite all the characters eventually but yeah, that’s just not going to happen otherwise. Judith and RJ returning was great, Rick finally meeting RJ was too. It was basically the ending we all wanted and they delivered besides some clunky dialogue. Judith’s dialogue is still too preachy and it doesn’t work as much now that she’s older and not as adorable as she was in Season 9; and RJ’s young actor is a bit too wooden but he’s young and I’ll give him a pass. If you didn’t watch Dead City and Daryl Dixon, and have no plans to, this series is definitely functional as the true series finale of The Walking Dead, as long as you just pretend that Daryl came back eventually. If you want to see Rick reunite with Daryl, Carol, etc, you won’t get it here but hey. The hero of The Walking Dead Spoiler finally got home. Good enough show, worth a watch especially if you’d like a proper exit ramp from the franchise and to finally get closure on Rick. I’m still going to watch the remaining sequels until they end since I do care about Daryl, Carol, Maggie, and Negan, and I’ll tune in if they do a proper reunion of the characters. But I do feel closure here that I didn’t get from the series finale of the original show, and I appreciate it. P.S. do a King Jerry one-off special!
Loved the last episode of this series. Looking back, there were two deaths I wish hadn't happened and wish they could have developed the characters a bit more.
That was just the 1st, boy it' been a fast-paced series then. I was trying not to spoil it, after getting a month long ban (elsewhere) for spoiling a TF Comic 6 years after it came out??? But Spoiler Jadis as I felt she was getting better as a character and Nat, he just seemed like an interesting guy to keep around.
