I think it's less to do with seeing individual episodes and more of the whole package. Like seeing one part of a giant machine isn't going to wow you, some parts are much more interesting then others.

I wouldn't quite call the DCAU a masterpiece. Odd decisions like Batman and Batgirl hooking up, Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane hooking up, the whole Green Lantern/Hawkgirl/Vixen/Hawkman mess and the exclusion of Batman's rogues gallery from Justice League, to avoid confusion with The Batman, immediately come to mind. It's pretty damn close though.

That did suck. Batman had the best villains.

My main gripe with DCAU was that the best Green lantern episode where he actually faces Sinestro was in Staick Shock and not JLU.

What comics have you been reading?
Lex is jealous of Supes, and reasons it away by telling himself Supes is only better than him because he "cheats." Luthor wants to expose Superman for the fraud he is (in Luthor's mind).

Where do you get "Lex is usually crazy","he wants to kill Superman to look powerful," and "randomly" attempting world takeover?

I know I'm going to get blasted for this, but I hate the art. By the time JLU came out the art had gotten a little better, but I still didn't really like it. Flash especially in no way looks like a human being wearing a cowl,he looks like some sort of alien.
If they wanted a cartoony look,I would have liked something more like Brave and the Bold, and if they wanted a "realistic" look,I would have preferred the iconic Alex Toth animation models.

That being said,I generally like the shows, allthough the Burtonised Penquin in BTAS pisses me off. The JLU episode where Bats and Orion go to Flash's house is one of my favorites.

I just watched the 2 episodes with Steel last night. Very cool. I always wondered who Steel was, I saw him in JLU.

It depends where you get "usually" from.
There is a period in the comics where Lex is as you described, but there are other versions in comics and other media where Lex is crazy -sometimes a "mad scientist" even.

I would call a continuity that contains Batman, Batman Beyond, Superman, Static Shock, The Zeta Project, and the two versions of Justice League a masterpiece.

Being a masterpiece does not mean that there are no flaws.

I would have loved to see R'as threaten the league, but we did at least get Joker and Clayface.

I'm pretty sure Lex said that himself in one of the Superman movies.
