Not sure what year it is, but it's the one with some kid wanting to join the titular group and the main bad guy (under Cardinal Richileu) looks like Disney's Captain Hook except he's missing an eye instead of a hand.
Anyways, it was a decent film, the fight coreography was excelent, but what killed it for me was the young hotshot who wanted to be a Musketeer. He was such a dumbass for most of the movie, up until the final fight scenes where he suddenly gained 20-something years of mental maturity and started kicking lots of Cardinal Guard ass. For a film I was semi-forced into watching (it was set in the time period my AP Euro history class is covering right now), it was decent. An outstanding film, with a great story and of course great action. Some real exciting shots & moments especially with the whole parkour style. Also I really liked the cast, they hit it right with both the heroes and the enemies. The English dub blows so as usual I watched it with the subtitles and in French. Why watch a film made from a different country and not enjoy its intended language?
Got Banlieue 13: Ultimatum here with me to watch too. So I hope this sequel is just as good. Banlieue 13: Ultimatum - 7/10
More of the same yet a lot less exciting and it lost quite a lot of its charm compared to the first film, I suppose having a different director on each film will do that. Its good but not overly special, its doesn't redefine like the first did it just managed to remove all its flair. Some good action and moments of course make it a worthy watch but a tad disappointing to be honest. Quote:

quite good but the characters were not very interesting and i didn't like the ending. Sig pictures are to be no larger than 40KB in file size and should be no larger than 300 pixels in height and 500 pixels wide - 2005 Staff |
