Well if there are any Avatar fans on the board good for you, but if your not I strongly urge you to check out the series. It is in a word, great. Action, comedy, fantasy, you name it Avatar has it.

Now that that's out of the way, here is a link for the first pics released of the live-action actors in M Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender".

    Aang and Zuko

Looks cool, hopefully if M Night can capture the essence of the animated series it should turn out to be a good movie.

Holy snap, accurate casting is accurate. Hopefully Shamalamadingdong doesn't add a bizarre and totally pointless twist to this movie like he does all his other films.

And on that note, can the story of the Avatar be cohesively told in a single feature film?

And the teaser is coming with Transformers, double win right there!

My Avatard of a girlfriend is going to go nuts over this. Dunno if it'll be a "happy" or "angry" nuts, yet. Either way, it'll be entertaining to watch. :lolol

Atleast they were smart enough to keep the arrow and make it believeable. you know, instead of painting a big, light-blue arrow on his head.

My friend wrote a story about the group 'Aang ain't white' that was protesting the casting of this series. The plan was to make the series a trilogy.

I do agree that it would be pretty silly to have the big blue arrow on his head. However, considering people use magical powers to fly, control water, shoot fire from their hands, and basically use alchemy, I think that believability is a moot point right about now. I don't understand why you guys seem to be making fun of the fans that are complaining. I mean considering how upset we all were with the stupid things that Bay did with Transformers, I don't think we really have the right to complain. I mean I could care less if you change a character's outfit. Unless it's a comic book hero's costume then it's no big deal. What I have an issue is with two things: 1. Why would you make a live-action movie of a cartoon that won't translate well into live-action? Seriously, it was meant to stay animated. 2. Why would you take Asian characters and make them Indian? Oh I know why because your Indian and you want more of your race in movies. So instead of making an original film with Indians in it, you just butcher someone else's work.
Ok I'm done with that. XD
I guess in the end it doesn't matter. I'm not going to see and a lot of fans won't see it. If you see it and like then by all means have a good time, buy the DVD. I'm just saying you shouldn't insult the fans just because they don't like the way Shamalayn (don't even know how to spell it) messed up their favorite show.

They spared no expense on the costumes and makeup which is good no doubt but epic white washing on the scale of the movie "21" means I won't be supporting this movie at all.

Saw this on the blog earlier today. I LOVE Zuko. Aang has a little too much baby fat in the face, but he will grow out of it as the trilogy progresses, so I am not too upset about that. The design on his forehead is...well...confusing. Not sure if it is the arrow or what...

You know what, I thought it was odd that the costume differs from the animation but I actually really like it. The bright orange tunic thing he wears is really odd when you try to translate it to the real world. This costume reminds me more of a monk's robe, which is great because the Air Nomads are basically a monk culture. Plus glider staff :thumbs2: !

As long as it glows when Aang goes into the Avatar state I'm happy.

I see the movie ending the same way the series ends the first Book/season (Water). That would mean the entire first film would basically be a overview of that season concluding at the North pole. As for a twist it would be cool if they actually do set something up like the introduction of Azula or Toph and ending on a to-be-continued just like Back to the Future.

Also, as cool as it is seeing the Actors in costume I really want to see what Appa looks like. It would absolutely SUCK if they mess him up. I keep thinking he will end up looking like that dog-dragon thing in the Neverending Story. That son of a b***h was ugly as Sin and creeped me the hell out.

It's definately the arrow. It's hard to make out at first, but it's the arrow.

EDIT: And we're getting the trailer with ROTF? Sweet.

After seeing the pics, Paul Mooney's (while on Chapelle's Show's Mooney on Movies) thoughts about "The Last Samurai" came to mind. :lol

My cousin was actually cast as a Fire Nation named part, but he had to decline the part as it interfered with work study programs at Drexel.
