I work at a theatre, and occasionally we end up discussing who we would cast in some of our favorite older movies if they were to be remade, and I thought I'd spread some of the joy here, updating the thread once in a while with a new movie to discuss. First up...
Star Wars
Not quite a boy, not quite a man, Luke Skywalker gets caught up in a galactic rebellion against an evil empire.
Luke Skywalker: NOT Shia Lebeouf. Zac Effron, maybe?
Obi Wan Kenobi: Morgan Freeman
Han Solo: Robert Downey, Jr.
Chewbacca: Seth Rogen
Princess Leia: Isla Fisher
Darth Vader: Voice of James Earl Jones.
As for the sequels...
Lando Calarissian: Mos Def
Emperor Palpatine: Jack Nicholson
Yoda: Voice of Harland Williams

I don't think you could do a remake with with Ben Kenobi Being played by a Black actor. Not unless it was 20-30 years from now.

If your going to do a remake pick an older movie say 40 to 50 years old. The Thing and the Fly when they were remade were epic, aren't there a million old horror and other type movies that could be done just as well?
