I though pretty much on principal alone despise remakes but it is Jason so I'll be watching it, although I won't expect much since lets face it, remakes more often that not suck and suck hard, at least modern ones do. And I thought Jason X was a fun movie, and it didn't take itself too seriously. The only one in the series i can't stand is Jason Goes to Hell, god that was horrible, and the start of Jason with strands of hair look that's been kept up for god only knows what reason.

Huge F13 fan, will be there front and center on day one. I was actually born on the same day that Friday the 13th Part 3 - 3D came out in theaters...it was destined to be.
Here's a little info for you all who may not be the biggest followers of the franchise:
This is a retelling/re-envisioning of the first four original films rolled up into one film. Yes, Jason runs in this film, he did in the earlier films too. Yes, he's "smart" in this one. Well, not book smart mind you, but he's a hunter, sets traps, and so on. Once again though, this is nothing new, he always was. Jason was always quite good at tracking his victims and luring them into his traps.
So, forget everything you know about Jason or the F13 series from part 6 onward, ( especially Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X...just...no.) go watch the first four films, and you know what you'll be dealing with for the new film.
I also met Derek Mears (the guy playing the new Jason) at a convention. He's an incredibly nice guy and is a big fan of the series and jumped at the chance to play Jason in the new flick. I REALLY hope this doesn't disappoint, but I really liked the TCM remake, so fingers crossed...even if Bay-splosion's name is attached to it. END GEEK-OUT How to make a Bayformer in 3 easy steps: 1: Acquire any non-Bay related Transformer.
2: Smash repeatedly with a hammer.
3: Glue shattered pieces back together with your feet. |

LOL But anyways I want to see this film and I think it'll nice that he's mortal because even though I dig the undead Jason, but at least its equal footing. In my books. I'm just getting it out of people's minds that Jason is still an undead, immortal being in this new film. How to make a Bayformer in 3 easy steps: 1: Acquire any non-Bay related Transformer.

"Freddy vs. Jason", plotwise, was far and away more of a "Nightmare on Elm Street" film than a "Friday the 13th" one. The entire story revolved around Freddy.
So in compensation, Jason got all but one of the kills. He may not have gotten the plot but he got the bodycount.
Works for me. PelleCreepy

Works for me. | I agree in a way it was kinda more NoES than F13, but still at least Jason got the bodycount, thats good enough with me. Team Metal Member: Metal Shadow |
