You can watch the first episode a week ahead of its scheduled NBC TV premier on Sept. 24th at 8:00 PM Eastern. Go to welcome to knight rider online to check out the numerous providers, and yes, it's all perfectly legal and non-leaked. This is all being done by NBC.
I hate it when they can only broadcast within the US. I know why they do it, but it irritates me. I'm trying to remain optimistic about this, but it just looks like another TNA show.
Well it was better than the pilot, still not as good foundation wise as the original. It's also doesn't have that lone wolf " One man can make a difference feel" It seems to be somewhere in between the original and team knightrider. I'll give it a few episodes to go somewhere.
Who knows on those, but this isn't the first revitilization of Knight Rider. It's refered to mostly as the next step or evolution of it. The next chapter. Not sure if those others could do the same. Story-wise it goes Knight Rider(80s), Team Knight Rider(90s), Knight Rider(07-08). Non-story wise there was Knight Rider 2000 also in the 90s. Some general time frame as Tek War's release, and Time Trax. And more recently, but not canon to any of those was the animated Knight Rider Turbo Boost for cell phones. The others don't have as such a history of canonical spin-offs and continuances though. Hulu.com is also offering it up for free right now, with the premiere movie still available to watch. Again all legit too. Kitt's transforming will take some getting used to, but overall I'm digging it. Kinda reminds me as a nod to the cell phone toon, Knight Rider Turbo Boost. Team Knight Rider is also available on Hulu.com TKR was the further evolution of the Foundaton's use of the KITT technology. There has yet to be a mention of it in new Knight Rider, but new KITT is also FBI based, not FLAG, TKR if still around, is FLAG based. So the two wouldn't know of each other as of yet. Though the Hoff didn't cameo in TKR and has in new KR, so I'm not sure if they'll maintain that TKR is still with FLAG. They did leave TKR off on a cliffhanger though, with a new badguy having stolen the original Knight Industries two thousand CPU, and new KITT is the Knight Industries Three Thousand. They have yet to cover where the original model is currently. Kinda makes me wonder if we'll ever see FLAG again as well. I'd love for TKR and KR to have an 'air carrier size' discussion. It really helps to better take this in as a show if you understand the differences between it, and the previous shows of the same continuity. Having seen the original and TKR, I welcome the change from FLAG to the FBI footing the bill, which may later lead to other ends, as there was a reason that FLAG was formed previously as opposed to putting this into the governments direct hands. So the story still has room to grow to expand on why the differences are there, and what will happen because of them. Also, am I seeing things or did they cameo Ironhide in the first episode? Or was that a cameo for Duke(TKR Truck) in KITT's new programming? Hasbro should really look into obtaining the toy license for this, for both TF Crossovers, and GI Joe like scale. Heck I'd even purchase scout TFs of the various new KITT forms, or an electronic ultra scale TF with working light and sounds. Turbo Boost did already give a vague idea of a bot mode anyway.
The new Knight Rider is ignoring everything after season 4 of the original Knight Rider show. So no TKR or crappy Knight Rider 2000 red KITT. If original KITT does come back he will be the TransAm. All this was said by the guy in charge of the show in an interview.
I like the sound of that. I enjoyed it a lot, actually. I thought KITT "transforming" into the truck and attack modes awesome. And TURBO BOOST!
It was a pretty good show. They've polished it, from the pilot. I know that TKR isn't cannon to this new series (especially not with Micheal Long's appearance at the end of TKR) but when KITT turned into a pickup I though "He turns into Attack Beast?" Spoilerish bit: I don't think they thought out the new identity bit very well. Shouldn't he be getting plastic surgery, like his father did?
I did, too, but most people didn't. Though the fact that everyone said it was actually good leaves me very optimistic. So exactly where does the show take off after the movie? Last scene he and KITT were being dropped out of an Aircraft. Is Kilmer still doing KITT?
Looking at that website, the thing that strikes me is how damn ugly the new KITT looks sitting next to the old one. With 80's KITT, the glowing scanner thingy is built in, part and parcel of that sleek design. The new KITT looks cumbersome in comparison, the red lights stuck on like an afterthought. Somehow, a 20-odd year old product manages to look more futuristic than a supposedly cutting edge automobile...
I watched the first ten minutes but I had to stop myself cause I want to enjoy it for the first time in HD next week.
Ok I saw it online and I am really on the fence with this one. I am happy that they brought Knight rider back and that it has the essence of the original shows but I got a lot of cons. First of all, I didn't like the fact that they made Michael some sort of a James Bond type. I think that if they have kept it simple it would be better. KITT transforms ?!? Why ??? What is the reason for that ? Now the vfx are Ok, for the TV, but I could clearly tell that they rushed the vfx. Great portion of the stuff looked totally CG and slapped composite. These are my two cents on the subject. I haven't decided if I am gonna continue to watch it.
Unnecessary gimmicky "attack mode" = K.I.T.T. looks like K-R-A-P (sic). I quit watching after the opening credits. Shame, since the original Knight Rider series was my absolute favorite show as a kid.
You guys do know KITT transformed in the original Knight Rider, right? I like the transformations, just because I like anything that transforms like that. Still better than the nano-morphing crap from the TV movie. I think the "Attack Mode" is cool. Reminds me of KITT's Super Pursuit Mode. They should lose the stripes, though. Mike = James Bond doesn't sound promising, though I still withold final judgement until I see it myself.
If I remember correctly, He didn't FULLY transform. KITT would just move several parts out to get more of an aerodynamic shape, in order to drive in super speed. That was also in later episodes. But dude, see the new episode and see what it is all about. Don't wanna spoil it for you.
