The Happening - Early Impressions Rolling In

I thought the movie looked kinda "meh" to begin with. But this just sounds like it hurts. Beware, the Collider link may have spoilers.

“The Happening is a terrible, terrible movie. I mean, it’s bad on an epic scale. It’s so bad that I can’t possibly tell you how bad it is without understating the point or making it sound like I’m picking on the film. But let me stress: this is not pent-up Shyamalan aggression or a desire to see him fail. This is bad in a jaw-dropping “they can’t really be serious, can they?” kind of way. The closest comparison I can draw is to Neil LaBute’s “Wicker Man” and, like that film, the only consolation I can offer potential theater-goers is that you might want to see it just to be in on the ground floor when the film gets its ass handed back to it.”

Yeah, read this on AICN yesterday. I hope it isn't that bad; I like MNS. I loved Signs, and hope this follows in that general direction. I can't imagine MW doing a bad acting job, after his recent hits, but anything could happen. I hope it is better than they say.

While I really want to read this, I want to be completely blank when I go watch this movie. This has made me enjoy all of his movies, twist or not, a whole lot better.

I once farted on the set of Blue Lagoon.

i haven't liked M Night's movies since Unbreakable, i hadn't planned on seeing this one, and the review reinforces that
Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence.

I'm looking forward to this. I'm one of the 8 or 9 people who really enjoyed 'Lady in the Water,' though I felt 'The Village' was a bit weak. However, Hulk will smash puny Shyamalan.

The original title of this movie made the movie's premise too obvious.

Well, it's gotta be better than Lady in the Water.

I hope. *crosses fingers*

Doesn't look too bad, but I can see where they are coming from in regards to Wahlberg's performance. But regardless, I still want to see the movie. Just have to put my dumb hat on...
