I just saw the viral stuff in chapter 17. Why are so many of the menu options non-responsive? Why have them there if there is nothing in them?

It's to make it look like you actually found something by digging around. Secret agent stuff.

I purchased it on tuesday from Hot Topic with my birthday money, and I watched it on my laptop that night. Watching it a for a third time was fantastic! The acting and special effects in it are better than I originally thought. I should also mention that since Cloverfield is in first person view, and I was watching it on my laptop, it felt like I was watching a very long Youtube video (the same goes for The Blair Witch Project). Cloverfield is definitely an awesome movie.

I am very excited for the sequel. Hopefully the monster's true name will be the sequel's title.

Bought the dvd and finally watched it. Was'nt too impressed, the monster could've looked more realistic. Mustve been the shiny cgi skin.
It was still a pretty good watch though.

:spoiler:
Only part that bugged me was when the tank got squashed by the monsters foot, and the street didnt crack at all underneath.
Your foot would leave a small crater if you squashed a tank like that

Those little parasites were pretty cool. That chick that got bit and was bleeding out her eyes, did they shoot her in the head, or did her head explode?

Don't look at my stuff!! Which is

Any effect this movie had was like x100 in the theater.

And her whole body exploded. Just watch it in slo-mo for vomit inducing nightmare.

That part was rather scary and very disturbing imo.

Keep in mind the budget was only about 30 million. I think they did an impressive job for how much they spent.

Megan Fox, is that you?

I just saw it and, man, it was awesome!!!

Granted, it was a little slow in getting the point that made you want to see it -- but when it hit I was actually surprised. I mean, they did it in such a way that I was so absorbed in listening to Rob's brother [Jason] give him a tallk straight outta "Felicity", I nearly stabbed myself with the fork when the exploision occured.

After that, watching the movie was like watching Blair Witch, (The news report segments were some awesome bits of acting), so much to the point that my mother actually left the room because the camera work was "Shit", but once the Parasite creatures showed up, Hud's camera work got a lot better.

I never thought I'd be so freakin' scared by "Clover" when they actually showed him (He reminded me of the Crustaceous Rex. from Godzilla: The Series), the CGI effects for this thing were great.

The sheer amount that isn't revealed (like why Marlena explodes ) about the situation, keeps the suspence and fear factor of the film at a major high and the fact that nearly all the characters die (except Lilly) is the only major bummer. I loved the orchestral suite at the end of the movie, very suitable.

Overall, I give it a 4/5
