I haven't seen any of the fourth season yet, but I thought Donna was about the only good part of "The Runaway Bride", which was generally embarassingly bad. I'm looking forward to seeing her on the regular series.

I have to admit, I'll be happy when RTD moves on. I've not been very impressed with his writing so far. He's had a few good stories, but most of them have been poor to awful.

I was curious as to how far along the newest season of Doctor Who is over there. It's going to be starting up in the US on the 18th. Personally I'm looking forward to it. We're also getting the Sarah Jane Adventures, that I'm not too crazy about watching but oh well.

Well, the doctor/donna miming-across the room bit was funny, and how the 'supernanny' interrupted them. And I want a plushy of one of those living fat things. But aside from that, the episode was pretty crap, to say the least.

Total gash today. Tennant never fails to deliver and Tate at least didn't make we want to claw my ears off this time, but the episode itself was the usual drivel that flows from the pen of RTD. I'm not amused that Fishface is making a return appearence this year either, her departure was one of the main reasons the show improved massively last time and i'm not keen to see her stinking up the screen again even if it is only for a couple of episodes.

On the topic of Torchwood, overall quality was much better this time althougth none of episodes particularly grabbed me. Bit miffed that they killed off Tosh as well since she was the only character other then Jack that I actually liked.

I'll admit that i'm struggling to care about anything Who related this year thougth. Battlestar, Terminator and Macross Frontier are all attracting my attention and i'm loosing patience thesedays with shows that only deliver 40-50% of the time.

I totally agree. I pretty much got bored of season 1. It was blah!! But then I started watching season 2 and I was like "SOOOOOooooo much better." But I still think they should kill Gwen. I can't stand her. She is so fuckin' stupid and sometimes I wish Toshiko would beat the shit out of her for no apparent reason.

But enough about Torchwood, totally forgot that the new Season of Doctor Who is now showing in the UK. Torrent here I come.

It just started in the UK. Yeah, this episode was pretty craptastic. Don't give me any of that "if you hate it don't watch it" crap. I LOVE Doctor Who, but luckily there was no-one around while I was watching this episode. Even things that kick ass can suck much sometimes. haha

So do I. I thought about 50% or so of Torchwood S1 were bad episodes. This season, there were only a few weak ones IMHO (The episode with Dead Own, and the one with the carnival performers).

I must be a lot more forgiving, I thought tonights episode was funny at times as well as rather lighthearted. Rose was a big surprise to see. While it's no where near the best episode ever list, it was hardly a waste of my time to watch. I was surprised at how much I didn't hate Tate, and that I actually laughed out loud at the miming across the room bit and trying to convince Miss Foster that she was going to die.

Guys, it was the first episode of the series, it was bound to be terrible, none of the first episodes so far have been any good. It'll pick up in a few weeks. I think Davies was actually really brave to put Rose in the series so soon, no one knew it was coming so it was a genuine shock moment. My brother thought it was Jackie when she had her back to the camera, so he was close. The Sontarons are coming back FTW and the Daleks are set to return along with the Ood. The thing that annoys me with the Daleks is that they're played up to be such impressive bad guys, then all of them are wiped out in two episodes, leaving it to some pathetic plot devise in the next series to bring them back. Anyways, if you watch the trailer at the very end there is some character taking of a helm or something, me thinks its either the Sontaron commander, or Davros. It would be awesome for it to be Davros, and its the only threat I think that could merit three of the Doctors companions turning up for.

I can think of a couple of other helmeted villains that would need lots of help to defeat:

Omega - since the Tardis still works, then he might still be about, and the first go round not only did he have a crazy helmet, but it needed three Doctors, plus companions, to bring him down.
Black Guardian - granted he only had, what five minutes of screentime in a Tom Baker episode, but he could potentially come back. He's meant to be the dark guardian of time or something, as far beyond the Time Lords as they were beyond all others. Who knows how dangerous he could be? Of course, he never had a helmet, but that's creative liberty for you.

I also thought this series of Torchwood was excellent. Much, much better than the first season. James Marsters stole every scene he was in, and I hope he comes back for a few more episodes next series.
