Given how much you dislike the new series, are you planning on seeing how it fares under a new producer with the new Doctor? | At last someone takes my remarks as they are intended
As for whether I'll give the new series another go, right now I'd say it's 99.9% unlikely with the new regime as I think Steven Moffat is just as hamfisted a writer as RTD and based on the interviews I've seen also comes across as being just as arrogant so I question whether he'll keep his ego in check for the good of the show.
I feel Matt Smith looks about 10 years too young to take seriously as the kind of commanding presence and voice of experience that the Doctor often has to be and IMO he was only hired because the powers that be figure he'll stand up to the frenetic pace of the action scenes better than an older man and because he'll appeal to the same kind of shallow female viewers that Tennant brought in.
Post Moffat/Smith I'm more open to things but only if there's a distinct change in the format. If all the one off, throwaway stories were dropped in favor of 2-4 parters then I'd be willing to give it another go without question as it'd hopefully mean more time for proper character development, quality dialogue and stories that didn't feel like they were being played out in fast forward but I guess that depends on how general TV audience trends change by the time those two depart.

Unlike RTD, Moffat can write a story that has a beginning, middle, and an end that makes sense. He's had some creative ideas as well. I'm interested to see where he takes the show myself.

| I think they originally wanted to cast someone a bit older, but something about Smith got their attention. I think he is too young, just like Peter Davison was, but he could still work. Time will tell. Shane's Comics - Four years and 500,000+ page views... I'll quit one of these days.

What really made me dislike him though was his attitude towards the work that Douglas Adams did for the show on the making of documentary on the region 2 DVD of "City of Death".
Along with a few of the other Nu-Who writers he basically dismissed everything Adams ever did for Doctor Who as a writer or script editor and just came across as being hugely jealous that in the same time period as he was working on Who he also created a hugely successful sci-fi series of his own.
I'm far from the world's biggest Douglas Adams fan but even so I thought it was particularly disrespectful considering the man is no longer with us and I doubt anything Moffat does now he's in charge of the show will be as popular as "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" became.

My scepticism is immense but after reading that maybe there's a chance he'll be able to repair at least a bit of the damage his predecessor has done to my opinion of the modern show.
