This is to rank your most anticipated MCU releases in the future. In other words what movie are you most excited to see? This I sonly MCU movies (No fox releases like Deadpool and X-Men or Fantastic Four releases) and certainly no DC ones (we can do that one in another thread) Thanks to ABH1979 for the graphic in the Marvel & DC Universe Discussion List I can easily find all the future MCU releases. Here are the movies to be ranked: 1) Captain America 3: Civil War 5/6/16 2) Doctor Strange 11/4/16 3) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 5/5/17 4) Spiderman 7/28/17 5) Thor 3: Ragnarok 11/3/17 6) Black Panther 2/16/18 7) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1 5/4/18 8) Ant-Man 2: Ant-Man and the Wasp 7/6/18 9) Captain Marvel 3/8/19 10) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 2 5/3/19 11) Inhumans 7/12/19 Please remember that number 1 means the best or most anticipated and number 11 means worst or least anticipated. You can put explanations if you want but please keep those until the end of your post so the rankings are clear and stand out. I will start by putting my ranking in the next post. Have fun! By the way a lot of you know that one of my jobs I work with movie trailers and market research and surveys for movies and anticipated movies so this is actually helping me at work as well so I can tell the studios hey this is what people want and this is what people are looking for etc. Hopefully it also means that I can get some Marvel trailers though I doubt it because Disney/Marvel is VERY secretive about their trailers leaking (and have been doing a good job of it lately no leaks from Comic Con the year before age of Ultron came out, one very minor leak from D23, and the Civil War trailer didn't leak ahead of time) and with my job we get the trailers before they have been released to the public and though they can't record anything it doesn't stop them from talking (a.k.a. ME) so that's why but it's worth a shot! Thanks!
Here are my Rankings: 1) Captain America 3: Civil War 5/6/16 2) Thor 3: Ragnarok 11/3/17 3) Doctor Strange 11/4/16 4) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 5/5/17 5) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1 5/4/18 6) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 2 5/3/19 7) Ant-Man 2: Ant-Man and the Wasp 7/6/18 8) Black Panther 2/16/18 9) Spiderman 7/28/17 10) Captain Marvel 3/8/19 11) Inhumans 7/12/19 I think my rankings have to do with what I am a fan of and what I know and don't know the most about in terms of characters. Obviously I am a big Winter Soldier fan so I am very much looking forward to Captain America 3: Civil War. Thor 3: Ragnarok seems like they are really ramping up the ante on this one wanting to finally get the Thor franchise right (because they haven't been doing so good in my opinion lately. So here's to it and let's do it! Doctor Strange is kind of the same reason. I love Benedict Cumberbatch and think he is beautifully cast in this. Doctor Strange will be a different venture for the MCU by going into the magic side of things and not as grounded in reality. From the pictures I've seen the scenery looks beautiful so I hope they can do it right. I barely know anything about the Inhumans so I'm not really looking forward to that. I don't like how Miss Marvel turned into Captain Marvel and all the casting drama (I mean just announce it already! They already have it cast they've just been keeping it a secret, for what reason I don't know) it just seems like drama and changed and not something that is going to be left solely to the director (in other words studio involvement the likes of Fantastic Four (2015) With this being the first female led superhero movie for them I can definitely see that happening. Spiderman ugh I am just not looking forward to yet another reboot of Spiderman and the whole thing just seem unnecessary. I mean by all means use Spiderman in Civil War and other ensemble movies but a solo film? Really? Now that they seem to have the Hulk down and cast wonderfully with Mark Ruffalo if anyone deserves another solo movie it is the Hulk not a risk like Tom Holland (who admits he got the job because he knows Chris Hemsworth who put in a call for him). Ant-Man and Black Panther are right in the middle or towards the end of things because we haven't seen Black Panther yet in anything so for me it is still a toss up as to how that one can go and though I loved the Ant-Man movie and am really glad that following the departure of Edgar Wright that the movie was still as good as it was. I don't like the Wasp though, I know a lot of people loved her and I can see why but I don't know what it was. I don't hate her but I didn't jump for joy for her either. So that's why that's where that one is. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is up there because come on look at what James Gunn did with that, he took a franchise that hardly anyone knew about and made lemonade from lemons and boy did it taste sweet! I can't wait to see what to see what they do with part 2! Avengers: Infinity War has to be above Ant-Man and the Wasp and Black Panther because I mean come on that's the culmination of everything. However it isn't above some of the other movies because I am nervous about some things. Certain actors or characters that have been vital to the MCU aren't guaranteed to be in Infinity War. Infinity War is a BIG ensemble cast, bigger than Guardians and bigger than Avengers 1 and 2 so that has me nervous that's a lot of people mixed up in there. Also the reigns are being passed from Joss Whedon to the Russo brothers Joe and Anthony Russo. I LOVE (obviously) what the Russo brothers did with Winter Soldier and I will get to see what they do with an ensemble cast with Civil War but before then an ensemble cast can be a difficult thing to deal with. Avengers 2: Age of Ultron wasn't what I wanted it to be so again it makes me nervous to have yet again another Avengers movie AND now adding more people to it (Old Avengers team, New Avengers team, Guardians of the Galaxy including the new members of the Guardians in part 2 AND including Ravengers) I am also nervous about the studio sticking their noses in and mixing things up (like Fox did with Fantastic Four and Marvel obviously did with Avengers 2: Age of Ultron at least I think they did), Avengers 2 broke Joss Whedon and even just watching him in interviews he was done and it made me sad. So I hope that the studio stays where they are supposed to: in their office writing checks. As Anthony Mackie would say "CUT THE CHECK!"
01. Captain America: Civil War 02. Avengers: Infinity War Pt.1 03. Avengers: Infinity War Pt.2 04: Spider-Man 05. Doctor Strange (only because of Cumberbatch) 06. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 07. Thor: Ragnarok 08. Ant-Man and the Wasp Currently could not possibly care less about the remaining three, and actually hope two of them are just scrapped altogether.
Doctor Strange Civil War Avengers 3 Guardians 2 Thor 3 Ant-Man 2 Spider-Man Black Panther Miss Marvel Inhumans Did I miss anything? Oh and really Spider-Man is only that far down on the list because we just had a rebooted Spider-Man movie verse. I'm tired of seeing Spider-Man.
Captain America: Civil War Black Panther Avengers Infinity War Doctor Strange Spider-Man Thor: Ragnarok Ant-Man and The Wasp Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Captain Marvel Inhumans
1. Captain America: Civil War 2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 3. Thor: Ragnarok 4. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 5. Doctor Strange 6. Captain Marvel 7. Spider-Man 8. Ant-Man and the Wasp 9. Black Panther 10. Inhumans
I'm going to have to put Civil War at the top of the list because the hype machine is working and they have me excited about the film. Guardians 2 I'm crossing my fingers and putting as my #2 choice just because the fun of the first movie felt like such a breath of fresh air after too much doom and gloom out of Hollywood. Then the vast middle. I'm sure they are all films I will go see and if the Marvel track record continues they will be films I enjoy. Just seems like they are little too far out to get excited just yet. Last would be Spiderman just because I've kind of lost hope in Spiderman films. It's something that could be turned around with some good trailer and good buzz but right this moment it's just kind of hard to be excited about Spiderman again.
1. MCU Spider-Man 2. Ant-Man and The Wasp 3.Cap: Civil War 4. Dr.Strange 5. Captain Marvel 6. Black Panther 7. Thor: Ragnarok 8. GOTG Vol.2 9.Avengers IW Part 1 + 2 10. Inhumans
1.Guardians of the Galaxy 2 2.Dr Strange 3.Black Panther 4.Ant Man & The Wasp 5.Captain Marvel 6.Inhumans 7.Spiderman 8.Thor 3 9.Avengers:Infinity War 1 & 2 10.Captain America 3:Civil War
I'm probably most pumped for Captain America 3. I hated Civil War in the comics, but the Cap films have been the most consistently excellent movies in the whole line. After that is probably Doctor Strange because I'm curious to see how that turns out. The Guardians and Avengers sequels come next because I liked the previous films and want to see what comes next. The rest are really hard to rank. I haven't seen Ant-Man yet, so I really have no clear hype for the sequel. Meanwhile, I honestly keep forgetting that Thor 3 is even happening and I don't really care all that much after Thor 2 was such a letdown. Spider-Man is too much of a "been there, done that," Black Panther is a character that's always been hit-or-miss for me, and I have extremely low expectations for Captain Marvel because I fucking hate Carol Danvers as a character. The Inhumans is at the bottom of the list for me, so much so that I may actively avoid seeing it. They're almost all boring characters, they tie into the boring Agents of SHIELD tv series, and I refuse to accept Marvel's numerous attempts to convince me that they're valid X-Men replacements.
Here are my rankings: 1. superman v batman 2. Justice league part 1 3. Justice league part 2 4. Wonder Woman 5. Suicide squad 6. Flash 7. Aquaman 8. Green Lantern 9. Cyborg
I was just curious why Civil War was at the bottom of your list. Just curious is all because it is at the top of so many other people's lists. Just wondering if there was a particular reason or......... *shaking my head* some people don't listen and don't read, couldn't tell that everyone else was putting Marvel movies huh.
1. Captain America: Civil War It was actually rather low initially, but the trailer has instilled hope for it to be good. I'm curious for it now and I'm rather excited. There isn't really much for me to say, but my initial fears of a cast far too large for it's own good is still around. However, the love triangle between Cap, Stark, and Bucky is keeping me interested. 2. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 The first Guardians was wondrously fun and energetic. I'm hoping they bring the same sense of charm and excitement to the sequel as well. Honestly, I felt the first one was at it's weakest when they started taking things too seriously, so let's hope they don't pull a Thor 2. 3. Black Panther I love Black Panther. I want to see him done well, and the MCU's track record for debut films have been on point. I don't know how it's gonna go down, but I am rather excited. 4. Doctor Strange I don't know what they're gonna do with him, but I'll have faith that they'll do him well. I only have rudimentary knowledge of Strange, so I don't have super high standards, so that's good. 5. Captain Marvel I don't know much about Carol Danvers beyond her appearances in Earth's Mightiest Heroes, to be entirely honest. So...Here's hoping it's good. I enjoy super heroines that are cool in their own right, rather than their sexy designs, and I really liked her in the cartoon, so...Yeah. 6. Avengers: Infinity War 1&2 This one was initially higher in my hype list, then Age of Ultron happened. It was alright, but it did suffer from a case of been there done that, unfortunately. Lemme guess, Thanos uses a Chitari(?) army to rush down a certain area as the Avengers have to defend a stronghold that's housing the final gem. Oh, wait, that's exactly what's going to happen. Still, it'll at least be a fun action movie while doing so...I dunno what's gonna be planned for the second one, though. 7. Thor: Ragnarok Thor's first movie was so good. Thor's second movie was so mediocre. I haven't an idea of how this one is gonna go down. At least we'll have Tom Hiddleston to help bring some life into it, so there's that. I do want to know how Thor's story is going to progress after the cliffhanger on Dark World, at the very least. 8. Inhumans This one is kind of a gigantic 'fuck you' to everyone not watching Agents of Shield. Only catching up thanks to S2 being added to Netflix, I'm still kind of weary to the concept. It might be good, but AOS is like a roller coaster, with it's ups and downs from episode to episode, so I really can't tell how the movie will be. 9. Spider-Man After 1 good movie (SM2), 1 decent movie (ASM1), and 3 other crappy movies, I'm just done with Spider-Man. I do have hopes for it when they announced that it won't be an origin, but they just keep mucking Spidey's story up time and time again (Stop using the [Blank] Goblin. He's a shitty villain for a movie) that what little hope I have still isn't very high... Unranked: Ant-Man and the Wasp Still haven't seen Ant-Man yet, much to my chagrin. I'll get to it eventually...
1) Captain America 3: Civil War 2) Doctor Strange 3) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 4) Spiderman 5) Thor 3: Ragnarok 6) Black Panther 7) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1 8) Ant-Man 2: Ant-Man and the Wasp 9) Captain Marvel 10) Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 11) Inhumans That's my ranking. I always look forward to the closest one that's coming out.
The guy has a massive hate-on towards anything Marvel related for little to no reason. I suggest ignoring him. Don't feed the trolls as they say. Moving on. Anyway, the rankings of the upcoming MCU are the following: 1. Captain America: Civil War 2. Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 3. Spider-Man (Am I the only one here that's really look forward to this particular film?) 4. Dr. Strange 5. Ant Man and the Wasp 6. Captain Marvel 7. Black Panther 8. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 9. Thor: Ragnarok 10. The Inhumans
1. Black Panther 2. Captain Marvel 3. Thor: Ragnarok 4. Spider-Man 5. GOTG2 6. Ant Man and the Wasp 7. Doctor Strange 8. Civil War 9. Infinity War 10. Inhumans
1. Captain America: Civil War The Cap movies will forever be known as the best of the MCU, and if the trailer is any indication, this one will be no different, bring it on. 2. Avengers: Infinity War The culmination of the entire MCU, so how could I not get excited for this?! Two parts, an giant ensemble cast, just let it be 2018 and 2019 already! 3. Thor: Ragnarok When the news broke that the Hulk was going to be in this, my excitement for this movie only increased! Thor just might be redeemed yet. 4. Doctor Strange Another side of the MCU never seen before and Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular hero, enough said. 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 The promise of more development for the characters is my main draw for this. That, and a little more build up for Infinity War. Not to mention the clever title. Everything else I do look forward to seeing, just its all on the same level. But I'm sure I'll love them all.
Captain America 3: Civil War 5/6/16 Guardians of the Galaxy 2 5/5/17 Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 5/3/19 Spiderman 7/28/17 Thor 3: Ragnarok 11/3/17 Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1 5/4/18 Ant-Man 2: Ant-Man and the Wasp 7/6/18 Black Panther 2/16/18 Captain Marvel 3/8/19 Doctor Strange 11/4/16 Inhumans 7/12/19
