Easily the two weakest of the saga by many are constantly ripped on the internet. I personally enjoy both of the movies despite the flaws but I give it to Attack of the Clones because Obi-Won gets more focus I guess and the the fight between him and Jango is cool and the arena scene is epic.

Attack, since it begins the Mythos of the Stormtrooper Corps.

    Phantom Menace.

Maul was a badass, there was an actual space battle, Anakin was annoying but not moronic, and Yoda didn't use a lightsaber.

TPM, because its at least a competently made movie even if it wasn't the one that most people wanted to see. Plus Maul, Qui-Gon and the saber fight at the end are cool.

Better? There is no "better" with the prequels, only "less worse". And Attack of the Clones is definitely the less worse of the two for no other reason than the color palette.

if you asked me at the time they came out; i would of said attack of the clones. since i really enjoyed the ending scene. lol

however, today, i'd say phantom. since it really isn't as bad of a movie as people think it is. it actually does stuff. and If you watch it with the mindset that Liam Neeson has no idea what he is looking, or talking to, since none of that had been designed yet, since that is all post production, then it makes it a much, MUCH better, enjoyable experience.

When he saves Jar Jar, just keep in mind, he has no idea, that Jar Jar looks like roadkill. :lol

I enjoyed watching all the prequels. there are a lot of really dumb moments, but, they do have their enjoyable moments.

attack of the clones though, does have too much Cspan moments. lol

My opinion changes every time I marathon the Star Wars movies. I'll go with my gut and say Attack of The Clones.

It's a bit of a close call. Phantom Menace is fairly evenly bland throughout, while Clones has more sharply contrasting good and bad. I quite enjoyed Phantom Menace the first time I watched it, with Maul and the pod race particular standouts, but those "courting" scenes with Anakin and Padme in Clones... just painful to watch. On the other hand, I'm all in whenever Christopher Lee is on screen. Also there was stuff that should have been in Clones but wasn't, namely any sort of interaction between Anakin and Obi-Wan that might have sold the notion that they were good friends.

The Phantom Menace because of Maul. I only seen half of The Attack of The Clones. Where's Revenge of The Sith in this poll?

Duel of Fates, just like every other time song Williams did, is terrible. The guy is vastly overrated. His music is too silly (through the use of flutes, and not dark themes) and ruins the tone of every movie he has ever done.
Anyway, back to the point, both of them are godawful. Revenge of The Sith is the only good Star Wars film (along with VI).

Phantom Menace is far better. For all its many weaknesses, at least it kind of works as a stand alone movie, like New Hope did. Attack attempts to be a bridge movie like Empire was, except it fails, along with being super boring and lame.

Also, it's much easier to forgive a little kid being a bad actor than a grown Hayden for being an even worse actor than the little kid.

Menace was by no means great, but it benefitted from having years of writing, thought, and pre-production leading up to it. Attack didn't have that prep time and is an absolute disaster in terms of structure and on every level of filmmaking other than CGI and art direction. It's easily Lucas' weakest directorial attempt.

I'd give the edge to Phantom Menace. I'd say the biggest problem with the movie is its unconventional story (due to the lack of a true main character) and the fact that it starts before the real story begins. Other than that, it has good action scenes and great special effects. I think a lot of people forget that Phantom Menace used a lot of practical effects and models mixed in with CGI. Plus, Jar Jar is still a fairly well rendered CGI character. Keep in mind that it came out before Andy Serkis revolutionized motion capture performances in Lord of the Rings. I never found Jar Jar to be as annoying as everyone says he is. He's not the greatest of comedic sidekicks, but I have seen far worse.

I don't quite hate Attack of the Clones, but it is my least favorite theatrically released live action Star Wars movie. The story itself is better than Phantom Menace, but the problem is in the execution. I thought Hayden Christensen improved quite a bit in Revenge of the Sith, but he was not very good in Attack of the Clones. With the exception of one or two scenes, he comes off as too defiant of Obi Wan and too obsessive over Padme. The love story could have worked, but the dialogue isn't very good and the performances were pretty wooden. The plot takes a while to get going, and there is a blatant overuse of CGI. Most of the time, it is good CGI, but there are some really distracting moments that don't hold up.

On a production value level, I have to give it to the Phantom Menace.

The Phantom Menace is the only one of the prequels that I don't love. I'm not saying that I don't like it, I just don't love it. On the other hand, I absolutely loved everything about Attack of The Clones.

You should put one of those winking emoticons at the end of your post, or people are going to think you are serious.

Not even going to get into it with you about your opinion of Williams and orchestral music in general, which probably doesn't extend too far beyond, "I don't like flutes." To each their own. But the idea that Jedi (never mind Sith) is one of the two best SW movies is patently silly. Jedi is nearly as flawed as the prequels.
