Should be interesting, but I hope it's still just a one season kind of thing. There are countless other characters/groups I would much rather see get an ongoing series.

Makes me wonder if they still might do that one season Huntress series to explain what she was up to between her appearances in Arrow.

 

I think the Brave and the Bold would work better.

Huntress could be good...this could lead to alot of other characters getting team-ups, guest spots, cameos or even their own show...

 

I haven't been watching the CW series -- has Katana already appeared?

 

Yes, she helped Oliver after he saved her son after she and her husband helped him.

The CW-verse is fairly fleshed-out.

 

If this one is done as well as Flash, then yeah, I'd be on board, with the list of characters they have to choose from, and with good writing, they have the potential for different stories each week, a la The Brave and Bold style.

That being said, I think I'd like to have a character or two that's a weekly staple, to keep the characters/series grounded....maybe the bigger of the Flash spin off characters?

 

BNB style would be welcomed...the Atom could be main focus...

The CW's Flash & Arrow Spinoff show that we've all been talking about has finally been officially picked up, with a title confirmed and some details announced:

CW is stocking up on superheroes, giving a series order to the Arrow-Flash spinoff DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, EW has learned. Julie Plec outbreak drama Cordon and Rebecca Bloom’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend also scored series orders.

In Legends, when heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat—one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

The drama—which hails from Arrow and Flash executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, as well as Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter—also stars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson) and Caity Lotz… though it’s still unclear whether she’ll be portraying a new role, since her Arrow character, Sara Lance, died earlier this season.


I don't have a link, but I have read multiple reports that it won't start until January 2016 as a midseason show; like Agent Carter did with Agents of Shield, Legends will air during a break in the next season of Arrow & Flash.

Also, I am betting that Caity Lotz shows up as Canary, since time travel will allow them to bypass her death with some alt timeline shenanigans, which is fine for a short, fun trip like this. It could also explain why Robby Amell isn't listed (yet?).

LASTLY:
It looks like Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl) and other cast members from the show will appear in some form on the season finale of The Flash, according to Renee's twitter page.

 

Rip Hunter is an interesting character, but more so when he's working with Booster Gold. I wonder if this show will open the way for him? Before the New 52 he was one of my favorite characters.

 

I'll be seriously pissed if Sara comes back though time travel BS and not Lazarus Pits, killing her off was the dumbest thing the show has done and marked the start of a really crappy third season. She deserves better than coming as an alternative or past self or whatever.

 

She might not come back permanently. What if Rip takes her out of the Arrow timeline (which is currently sucking) before her death, they go off and save the world, then he puts her back to die?

 

Cool! I'll be looking forward to hearing more about this!   DC's really killing it with these TV shows!

 

This is a weird premise for a show.

I might watch it but I'd rather have Cold and Heat Wave on Flash.

She's being referred to as White Canary, so I guess she is still Sara Lance. Hopefully a properly resurrected Sara Lance and not some stupid alternate timeline Sara.

 

It is indeed Sara Lance and not an alternate timeline version. When the trailer is out, it'll explain it. Somewhat.

Sara will be returning via The Lazarus Pit as confirmed by the trailer for Legends of Tomorrow that was just unveiled this morning at The CW's Upfront presentation. Said Lotz to EW, "There’s going to be some differences. There’s going to be some repercussions [from] whatever happened and it’s definitely going to make a difference in how she is. I’m really looking forward to it. The stuff they were telling me about it and where they’re going to go with the character is exciting."
