Yeah, I just call her random magic girl cause she bore little resemblance to Encantress.

Um, narcissistic gangster criminals? I mean, who tattoos a smile on his hand, really who tattoos anything. Letos Joker proved pretty crafty throughout the entire film, don't really see the problem with them emphasizing the gangster in what is a gangster character. Agreed that I could have gone without the grill though.

One thing that bothered me about the film was the double intros for dead shot and harley. The film should have just begun with Amanda Waller introducing everyone.

Overall, I thought it was pretty great. Smith was excellent as Deadshot, likewise the girl playing Harley, and for.once Jai Courtney had a stand out role. Plot felt like a typical comic story, so really don't know what people are expecting from these films honestly.

That's setting the bar really really really really low. It's kind of like saying well at least Lex in Batman v Superman was better than Doctor Doom in the latest Fantastic Four movie. I know Hollywood has had a rough patch of crafting movie villains lately but even by those low standards Enchantress stands out for being such a poor movie villain.

I'd like to see a bit more of Leto as the Joker before giving him the thumbs up or the thumbs down. They teased what could be an interesting Bonnie and Clyde vibe between the Joker and Harley but it's only a tease and you don't really know what they could have done if they had ran with it more.

Can't argue with that. For me, as it is, it was an average performance, but I can't deny that I only think that because he was barely in it.

This movie was crappy. I was disappointed. At this point, I'm expecting Wonder Woman will be crappy too and I think I'm going to swear off comic book movies for a while.

For a cameo character, he sure got a lot of time in the movie. Funny that ...

Just watched it... and it was a mess, with very few redeeming qualities -- made worse by the terrible cuts/editing. I'm curious in seeing a director's cut, but I'm really not sure how much that would help, considering most of the action was bad, and the joke/quip scenes all fall flat.

It's easier to list the few thing that were okay to good:

Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag - he was actually good here. Certainly better than anything else I've seen him in, but I suspect the character was given so much because the part was actually written for Tom Hardy. Anyway, there's a problem when Joel Kinnaman is one of the better parts of your movie.

El Diablo was great - he ended up being the only member of the Squad I liked.

Joker and Harley - I know a lot was cut, but I did get the sense that this Joker genuinely cares of Harley (or at the very least, is obsessed with her). My favorite visual in the whole movie was Harleen falling into the vat at Ace Chmeicals, with Joker enventually jumping in after her.

Ok watched this like for the ten millionth time (I liked it).
What is the song playing where Deadshot is showing Flagg and Waller what he can do and is shooting all the metal targets? I can't place the song but I know I should know it.

I don't know why I didn't notice this before but when Flag is hallucinating June's death hey log her time of death as 4:20. (Just in military time)

Do they ever say what foreign language the Entrantrss and her brother speak? I figured it was some ancient Aztec thing because Diablo seemed to communicate with him when he was that thing.

I've only seen it once but I think that may have been the scene set to "Black Skinhead" by Kanye West, which heavily samples Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People."

Wow, I can't believe I got that right after only seeing once a month ago!

But that was something I loved about the use of licensed music in this movie...all the songs were SO cleverly tied into what was happening onscreen, like Captain Boomerang being introduced with music by an Australian band, "swing batta-batta" lyrics over footage of Harley being the shit out of that thing with her bat, etc.

Anyway, I figured it had to be that song because I remembered LOL-ing when I realized they were using "Black Skinhead" over footage of a black bald man, hahaha. Plus, I love Marilyn Manson so I was psyched that HIS music was kinda on the movie, too.

    Hell, yeah!

Does anyone else feel as though we were seeing Joker through Harley's eyes/mind? He definitely was the "rosiest" Joker to me. Either that, or he's genuinely in love/obsessed with Harley. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship further develops, and where Batman falls in with it.

I just saw it and thought it was watchable but never want to watch it again, nor recommend it to anyone.

I agree with your whole post except the last part (kinda).

Although I guess it was my fault, but my expectations were that the Joker was the main villain or at least would have been in it more. I've only seen a couple of the early trailers and was reading how much Leto was getting into his role (giving other cast members bullets, etc) but I never really got into the promos.

Watching the movie, I was disappointed in the Enchantress and brother being the villains and was hoping for more the Joker.

Except it wasn't cleverly used at all, it had no plot relevance, and it happened back to back to back to back meaning the audience had no chance to breath at all. It was awful and lacked any meaning, the exact opposite of why GOTG used the music, regardless of whether GOTG was a better film (it was but it isn't my fave). I mean holy hell Seven Nation Army was completely out of place, and they even used Spirit in the Sky, which makes it even sadder how hard they tried to copy Guardians that they couldn't even come up with a completely original licensed music soundtrack.

God this movie just bums me out. I was a solid defender of a lot of the choices they made during production, but the only positive I took away from this film is that maybe Leto Joker will be awesome in a Batfleck solo film.

About the music, I like a lot of the songs (mostly those pertaining to rock), but feel like it should have been spread out more and had a few less songs. For example, "Dirty Deeds" could have been a song used for the Squad members instead of several and then the next song could show up 30+ minutes later.

Also, I want to see more of Leto's Joker. Right now, I am indecisive about it and think that if I get more that I will be able to come to a decision on whether I like it or not. I wonder when he will reappear?

I have a question for anyone here who might have read (or is reading) the novelization of the film ...

we all know pretty much half the trailer are cut sceanes ... which is a shame ...

I was wondering if the novelization includes those "sceanes" !?
