    I find that idea that guy loses his dog to thugs and decides to get revenge is funny.

    Maybe I'll check out the film when its on TV.

    I just find it funny because it makes them cartoonishly evil. They killed probably one of the most innocent things. It's like having a device that just turns off a rainbow or sunshine.

    I learned watching Leon the Professional; that it is never wise to piss off a professional killer. So to me the motive makes perfect sense: there's anger at the loss of his dog but also his reputation seems wounded which is probably what's keeping other more dangerous criminals from coming in and doing the same to him. So he goes to town on these small town shitheads and with one stone settles a personal score, and reasserts his rep as a man not to be fucked with.

    Loved it. It doesn't really add anything to the genre, but the cinematography and the way the tension builds to an unrelenting pace was slick and enjoyable. Kinda reminded me a little bit like Drive. I also liked the world building surrounding the hitmen/assassin culture depicted in the film.

    This movie was the shit. Great gunplay action by Keanu. Only complaint is that it wasn't longer. It flew by so fast. (96 minutes)

    Great action flick, and definitely the best thing Keanu has done in a long time. Also, the gunplay was some of the best in recent memory. As far as revenge flicks go, it's no Man on Fire, but still damn good.

    VFX artists who really love this movie but cannot stop nitpicking the muzzle flashes (because obv. they had to use CGI in CQC) decided to redo the muzzle flashes. They ended up making two versions.
