True. Personally, i think the whole dark antihero reboot style's been overused. Or at least, you can only apply it to certain characters, like Batman and Spawn. They were specifically created as "heroes" rising from darkness. How the hell are you going to do that to Superman or like Optimus Prime ? They're relatively positive father-like characters, you can't just slap an antihero label on them and expect them to still be what they were.
