Hiiii there. It's been several years since you mentioned them, but do you know if those diecast Animated Activator Bumblebee KOs are still buyable on Taobao? If so, can I have a link to them? I'm starting an army of Bumblepenguins, so thanks for your help.

Do you have advice on hunting for a diaclone dk-1 original red Countach? also trying to figure out what the original box looks like if it still exists with people

Edit; mas I found one btw, this is such a old post lol

EBay will be your best bet, as loose ones popup there very regularly, sometimes even boxed. Google image search will bring up a lot of original box images for the toy.

Saw your article 'The Fifth Cabnit' on TFSource - my place isn't too big and - long story short - my TF's are displayed in my living room, and I have the curtains open most of the time. They aren't exposed to direct sunlight, but the room gets bright. Should I worry about this doing something to the TF's in the long run?
      1. Maz
        Maz
Yeah I think because we're never there the whole day, we cannot always know where the light goes, reflections etc, so where possible don't store them in a room that receives direct sunlight under normal conditions.

Do you have any advice on what to watch out for when purchasing vintage G1 stuff? I haven't owned a G1 toy since... well... when they were actually in stores. I read about brittle/crumbling plastics. Anything else I should be aware of?
      1. Maz
        Maz
Main things I tend to look out for are discolouration, sticker wear, rusted pins or screws - although most of this is cosmetic. I think, be on the lookout for stress marks on plastic (like on Scramble City combiner bots, especially their heads), and all sections with metal flake/sparkles in the plastic.

Commendations for your bold decision to sell off your MPs! Also interesting to hear your allusions to the negative aspects of this fandom; your vague subtlety contrasts with other fans' direct criticisms (of TF fandom itself).

Still shocking, as you said, to see you quit the MP scene, as I kind of considered you a stalwart pillar of the MP hobby! But hey, MPs are overrated; go CHUG. :)

Haha it was a big decision based on so many contributing factors, catalysed by a big big ticket item I knew I'd have to sacrifice many toys to be able to afford. It's also a very thorough experiment in seeing just how much of my collection really is 'essential' - because life certainly would be easier without much of it, but the question is how enjoyable would it be.

Thank you for the kind words!

I completely understand and envy your forward momentum! lol I, too, have found myself encumbered by a vast collection I couldn't possibly enjoy, due to quantity/space/time.

I enjoy your articles a lot, and you've got a lot of great insights to share! You know what they say: "Less is more!" :)

Just read your "Return gone Wrong" article...

I also received a used/open item listed as new. Turns out, eBay customer service functions like a robot - they sided with the seller until I mentioned "item not as described" (even though I had described the situation as so, I had to use a specific set of words, like a magic phrase).

Ebay can reverse their decision if you are persistent.
