Like most others, Jazz probably still has that prejudice against Grimlock's alien form, whereas Grimlock just focuses on him as an obstacle rather than a commander. They both also know a personal weakness of the other, but are hesitant to exploit it in fear of retaliation. They have their fingers over the detonators; it's a matter of who presses it first.
