1. Grey Line
  That would be from a 3 part movie series that came out in the early 90's called 'Detonator Orgun'. That is Orgun you see... He's the hero who helps save earth from his own kind bent on destroying it with a 'Death Star' like ship. Here is the wikipedia link basically explaining it. Some have said it reminds them a little of Gundam.
