On the walkway leading up to my front door, some of those bushes get out of hand and need trimming. Wish I could get rid of that one ugly rose bush. The palm tree does ok, but if you don't trim it those blades will take out an eye.

How well do you remember the early/mid 80's? How did people who were older than small children, like preteens and adolescents react to Transformers? Was it broader than just another fad for little kids?

Ah, well four hundred bucks out the window. Uncle Sam will get his cut one way or another. I'm working a lot of 12 or 13 hour days lately, so I know what that's like. Other than that at least it's Friday.

Well, I just found out that H&R Block At Home software dropped my Stock sales and that I have to amend my taxes- causeing me to owe about another $300 to the Fed and another $100 to the state.

    Aside from that- just peachy.

    And you?

It seems he's pissed off that people are onto his M.O. He and Kurtzman are basically the go-to guys for safe, middle of the road, mediocre, low-risk screenplays. They essentially operate off proven tropes and conventional themes with a bit of fan service thrown in here and there. They rely on what they already know works in sci-fi, standing on the shoulders of many of the originators who came before them. They don't take big risks or gambles, although they're usually somewhere in the "competent" range; Trek fans want more than that. Trek most definitely flies right over Orci's head, and after a flash of brilliance or two in the first Trek move came Into Darkness and the fans were like, "You fucking impostors... It's true, you really are just the gimmicky hacks who wrote Lost." If you want to follow in Gene Roddenberry's footsteps, you have to be much more than a pale imitator.

Oh boy. He certainly doesn't do himself any favors with that. Comparing the fans to whiny children may sometimes be an apt description, when he does it it only makes him look like a bully. And when he proclaims himself a "loving parent" to said children, well, he goes full blown condescending prick at that point. I give him and Bay what I consider to be a fair amount of credit for tailoring Transformers successfully to mainstream movie audiences, but that's where the credit stops in my opinion. It's as if they think that was monumental enough a feat for one career, and afterwards they just do whatever they hell they want with it. Looks like he has the same disregard for Trek fans. He should just retire, go home and swim in his scrooge mcduck money bin.
