Wow, at some point we must have been cast from the same mold when it comes to Batman stuff! I DISTINCTLY remember leaving the theater watching Batman Forever thinking, "WHAT. THE. HECK? Now my eyes hurt so badly! Nighttime will allow my eyes to readjust to reality!" I also COMPLETELY passed on the boxed set. Every now and then, those movies will come on TV, and I'll try to give them another shot to no avail. Tommy Lee Jones could have made a really good Two-Face had he not acted like a clown. I won't even get started on the Riddler. Some people REALLY needed to watch B:TAS.

Nope, neither of those movies need to even be touched. My fear is that they'll try to "futurize" Robocop and everything that it'll just be so out of touch it won't be funny. One of my favorite things about the film is that it's so gritty and clunky yet it feels genuinely "futuristic". Economic decay, unemployment, cooperate takeovers and dictatorships, rampant and violent crime - it's a world that sounds familiar even today. The robots reflected this, too. ED-209 was stupid on legs, and Robocop couldn't run to save his life. They weren't "streamlined", they were like walking junkyards commercialized. And the Bixby Snyder commercials are as equally stupid as stuff on the Internet and everyone's familiar with it.

That's just Robocop. Remaking Total Recall? Good grief, Hollywood's on crack.

I refuse to have those Schumacher films in my movie library. It's odd that he can make such a great movie with Falling Down but can't make Batman work? Wow.

I think Joel Kinnaman can probably pull it off. The thing with me is that I don't think the story needs retold or "updated". I think one would be hard-pressed to top the first two films, especially the first. It's clunky. It's gritty. It's dark. It's funny. It's relevant. I really think that Hollywood is simply concerned with franchising these things. Robocop 3 is a failure for that (among many other things).

Also, Robocop isn't an "everyman"; Alex Murphy is a very specific person, to the point that I strongly believe he's only brought to life by Peter Weller.

That being said, Joel Kinnaman is GREAT on The Killing, which is a favorite show of mine. Pretty much AMC has me for TV viewing.

I think that Batmobile looks pretty cool. The whole thing is world better than the Joel S. films.

I'm not a Robin fan anyways. Batman is a solo act. Unless he's with Catwoman. :ev:

The moment I had him in hand in vehicle mode, I knew I had to grab the Lego Batman from my kid :lol He might be worthy of a spot in your collection even though he's not quite black.

Every time I watch Robocop and see that Emil dude gets covered in that acid and hit by a car I'm like OMFG!!! I almost always forget about it and when it happens it is insane. It is like the most random thing in any movie I have ever seen and that makes it awesome.

I hear you about Christmas. I'm almost done myself. Not really sure why but my nieces are insane for Optimus and Bumblebee. They see them anywhere and the freak out screaming :lol. I picked them up some of the rescue bots and that Bumblebee garage that goes with them.
