Lemme give ya the full deal! My mother was pretty fluent in french when I was a child so I picked up the basics as a little boy. As I have french and canadian roots/ancestry, she wanted me to experience some of the language growing up. Then I took french all four years in high school and so was pretty fluent for quite some time. My family stayed close to my french teacher after I graduated and and we are still good friends today. Also grew up in Louisiana and have some kin down south that are pretty thick on it. Sorry I took the long way around your question.... mais oui, je parle toujours un petit francais!
