- you PM the organizer (me) your mailing address and whether or not you're willing and able to do international shipping (and, optionally, subjects/fandoms/genres/etc. you'd prefer your gift to be from, if you have a preference and to make it easier on your Secret Santa)
- I sort them by a random process
- I PM you the name and address of another participant that you'll act as a Secret Santa towards (and it's secret, so don't tell them who you are before you send your gift)
- you send them a gift by early to mid-December
The gifts don't have to be expensive at all. I'd say no more than a Voyger class. This is just a gesture of good will from one member to another, and not an all-out spend-a-thon.
Early November is a little early to start this, but it gives you a month to shop (and a little while to decide whether or not you'd trust two virtual strangers--me and the person you'd be receiving a package from--with your mailing address), and if you do get an international shipment, the earlier you can send it, the better. Letters and postcards take a week at most, at least for everyone who posts here, but packages do tend to take noticeably longer.
Two things about participation:
1. Sign up only if you CAN AND WILL participate.
2. Only established members, who've been around for a while and above 500 posts or has good junkion/ebay feedback.
Now I think that since this is a transformers board, and since some of us has stuff we want to get rid of, this would be a good Idea. Leave a list of what you want doesn't nessarly have to be current line, it can be as early as
g1. YOu don't have to go out and buy something, it can be from your own collection if you want. just make shure it is what the person wants and is in good condition. w
