A potential customer put down a 25% deposit on Blue Bacchus and I haven’t heard from him since.

I am in the process of sending him a 5 stage reminder.

If he’s unable to pay then I’ll just refund his money and offer the item to the next person on the reserve list.

I would not refund his money if I were you. That's the purpose of a deposit. He paid you to hold it - he can either pay the rest or you keep the money.

Usually, I hold onto the money and then they can use it towards something else in the future, but because this guy is a valued customer as he's previously spent over £2,000 UK (approx $4,000) with me in the past and i've met him personally at shows, then something must be wrong.
