    Hmmmmmmmm. Interesting.

Part of me hopes this will be a more serious, darker installment. But the other part of me has been let down by the movies before. :I

To them, "Darker" could just mean more crude humor, swear words and such.

I'm sure Hasbro will love to hear that being said. Another reason to skip this abomination. Maybe someday they'll get a clue and use a character director with an eye for good robot designs. #MTMTEforever

Yeah alright, so we're supposed to believe this when Bay has to introduce a whole new cast (of humans), and he already brought in his mandatory comedian cameo? It went from Bernie Mac (the best of them) to that guy from the office in ROTF, to like half of the people Sam worked with in DOTM.

Bullshit. Then why is 95% of the merchandise aimed at kids?

The same reason we had several R-rated movie toy lines over the past 30 years.

    Except this isn't R-rated.

None of the films have been appropriate for Hasbro's demo. That's the really dumb thing about all this.

But yeah, darker just means more stupid shit.

What I hope it means: A darker, note serious tone.

What it'll probably mean: More crude sex stuff

Uh DotM was already way too dark for kids. The Chicago scenes were legit disturbing.

    This isn't exactly a revelation.

As for PG-13 movie toys, they go back to Batman(1989) at least. I was seriously obsessed with Batman Returns merch at the age of 4-5.

Whenever people say the word "darker" I always break into Inigo Montoya's "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

So does "darker" mean more violent and bloody? Or does "darker" mean more mature themes with characters that aren't all straight up good and/or evil? Because if it's that, then Thor 2 was also a much darker movie than most Marvel movies, with straight up killing, death tolls and Shakespearean themes of family betrayal... It was also a lot of fun and I was smiling the whole time like a kid.

Is this guy aware that dark of the moon had a scene in which optimus literally rips one character in half with his bare hands, uses large metal hooks to tear the head apart of another and goes on to fist another through the torso after pulling his face off.

Kids love violence more than adults I tend to find, which is hilariously ironic given the ratings system. So unless this movie is full of full frontal nudity, constant harsh swearing and depictions of sexual or drug related activity in some capacity its a movie kids are gonna go see.

This movie isn't going to be "dark" dark, is megatron walking in to a school smashing the wall off a building and literally squashing children like bugs. Dark is a species of mechanical beings coming to a realization their entire existence is predicated on self conflict and deciding to commit suicide en masse to atone for their endless war in order to spare the universe of their insanity that has continued to cause harm to other species besides themselves for millions of years.

It's hilarious that this would be the movie Hasbro decides to use to target the younger kids with the toy line.

I liked those toys, but then I was a stupid kid...Who grew up into a stupid adult...
