Yes, we can't explain female robots, but robots with beards, totally makes sense.

I want to be the first to speculate that Hound will be voiced by Larry the Cable Guy.

Interesting. So this officially confirms Hound as the bearded head we saw. On the bright side, it sounds like he might get some good characterization.

what has me worried now is that Nelson said Hound reminded him of the chubby bearded guy from Braveheart. Im not to happy with this development as far as the look of Hound goes, but if Hound speaks with the Scottish accent, I will officially say Bay really messed up on this one  

 

I personally want to see Brian Blessed voice beardy old man hound in the movie XD

Hound may have a completely different personalty from what we know so far. After all before we saw DOTM We figured from the way the Wreckers look they were going to be stupid hillbilly but then in the actual movie we found out that they have a scottish accent and are skilled in certain tech, Hound may be similer to that in Age of Extinction.

Yeah. Man, G1 was stupid.

We have now had four characters in the movies with beards. I don't understand how this is still new to people. ROTF came out in 2009. That's FOUR years now we've had Jetfire as a thing. Beards are old news.

You're confusing the words "character" and "personality."

Plenty of the movie bots have personality. the things they say, the stuff they do. Little bits here and there. They've all got personalities. It's character they lack. I.e., a developed look into their actions and motivations.

Hell, Jetfire had more personality than all of Energon.

And to further confuse the Transformers universe, Hound has a bolt or something hanging out of his mouth for more of a Grandpa with a pipe/cigar look.
Since the movies are more popular than anything else in Transformers, Many will get Kup and Hound confused after this. Yay for taking more character signature things and giving them to other characters! Then Hasbro gets to work the new changes into future versions of the character.
By 2025 this might be the norm:
"You know, the one with the wings that's black, with the face mask, visor, bolt cigar, and grumpy scottish voice?"
"You mean Ironhide?"
"Nope"
"Cliffjumper?"
"Well him too but no."
"Grimlock?"
"Him too but still, no."
"Megatron?"
"Yeah, him."
"But he is blue with horns now."

And I'm actually not raging or anything. Just goofin about the usual Bay things that show he has no respect for the source material. They are HIS Transformers.

 

Just hope the toys aren't overly simplified.
