Instead of Super Sentai getting help from Transformers I'd rather they just take cues from their candy toys.

Super Sentai Mechs have a..presence or chunkiness to their designs that I don't think most Transformers have*, even the more Japanese stuff, and I'm worried about losing that. What I think they need is just to design them so their gimmicks don't get in the way of potential articulation, and then acting on that potential.

*Instead of that presence I feel like Transformers have a lot more character to their designs. Which makes sense, since they actually are characters.

Um...why is a V-Tech Switch & Go Dino the image for this week's podcast?

Forget that! Keep the current status quo and support a winner! Donate to my page and you donate to victory over Aaron's tyrannical reign. All donations to my page are a doggy biscuit in Andy Roo's mouth!

Also, Vangelus' phone plan switch story reminds me of when a Comcast rep tried to sell me on home phone service while I was on the phone for an hour and a half trying to get them to fix my internet for the second time in a week. I hate customer service sometimes.

No idea, but they're really cool transforming toys for the little ones, better value and construction than the Rescue Bots I would say.

Got kind of a reverse answer to one of the listener questions.

I'd like to see the Switch & Go Dinos guys work on the rescue bots esque lines Hasbro does every now and then. I'd pay good money to see what those guys would do with vehicles turning into robots. Because those guys are really knocking some of those things out of the park.
Would be pretty neat to see the opposite as well. Like most I haven't been that huge a fan of the crazy complex designs. And I think a halfway point between the clunky and clicky joints of S&GD mixed with the articulation of modern transformers would be a beautiful thing.

For $15, we will soon get cheap, upscaled Cyberverse toys. For $15, Switch & Go Dinos offer sturdy and quality toys with tons of sounds and voice clips (30!), adjustable volume, motion sensor and what not. At the $20 price point, you get 50 different sound effects, adjustable volume, motion sensor, a choice of 3 sets of dino eyes and 3 pilots, etc. The bigger Switch & Go Dinos are even cooler. The recently released gigantic Jagger responds to 20 different vocal commands in both modes on top of all the other gimmicks. Only $80 (Canadian dollars). How does V-Tech manage to squeeze so much more value at comparable price points?

Oh and Vangelus, if you can find it I highly suggest Span the Spinosaurus.
It's one of the larger ones at around 30 bucks or so, but in my opinion it's the best toy in the line.
It has a satisfying transformation that does just enough with a few nice surprises, and the gimmicks are pretty fun if you are willing to feel like a small child again.
It was among the first wave, so it might be a little tough to run into but it's really worth it if you do.

About the Animated releases, this actually isn't the first time we've had the series available in widescreen and in HD. That's how it was on the Hub, and it was beautiful.

    Hey Vange,
How about for returning to the core design of a figure, it's just referred to as literally a return or revisit or renewal; renewal being an appropriate term especially considering that is now most Japanese figure lines refer to going back to an aesthetic design (examples being like SHF Black 2.0)

I just tossed $30 your way (from Brian). Probably a little more than I should have but hey kids could use it more than my bills. Enjoy Fall of Cybertron (I hope) and good luck sir. :)
