Please be warned, some of the answers could be considered spoilers: Roberto Orci Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Question and Answers Roundup for September 1st - Transformers News
Well, everyone's opinion is different. The point is, some might consider the replies spoilers, so best to give warning rather than let someone spoil themselves by accident.
Most of the questions, were common knowledge. Dont think I saw any spoilers. Its like stuff we already knew, asked again............
Personally I like how Bob is trying to make this more of an easy-going chit chat round than a tightly moderated question-and-answer session. Although he's mostly here to promote the Transformers sequel, he also doesn't seem to mind discussions about his other projects, and even personal interests and general industry insider tales. Makes him come across as quite the likable chap. I'd rate him up right there with Jorge Garcia and Terry O'Quinn from "Lost" at the Fuselage boards.
Maybe i dont read it right, but does this anwser mean that Barricade wont be explained in the second movie? than please someone explain what happend in the comics. Its kind of dumb, lazy even, to say we should go through other media to get a complete story if we want to or not. Its like having Gandalf face Balrog but dont explain what happend during/after the fight, and have Jackson say go read the book/comic to find out what happend. Its just bad.
Depends on what comic you're reading. Movie Adaptation - Prime kills Barricade along with Bonecrusher (as was originally planned in the script). Reign of Starscream - Ironhide makes Barricade crash against a bridge column. Starscream later returns to find Barricade having already started to repair himself. Barricade is later seen eavesdropping on Sector Seven. (Haven't read issue 5 yet.)
I'd recommend discounting the adaptation comic. RoS is part of a continuity that envelopes the final movie itself, and builds upon it. Loose ends from RoS will continue on into Destiny, which will set the stage for RotF.
Im really confused about the Barricade issue and if they don't use him in the sequel what a lame and stupid waste of opportunity. "We got cooler bots this tie around"...who gives a fudge, i just want to see the main ones come back and the story to be continued/explained where they left off some plot holes in the first.
We've seen his alt-mode at a couple known filming locations, so chances are he's gong to be in the sequel. For how long, not sure.
Where have we seen him exactly besides on the trailer being driven around LA months before filming even started. I haven't heard anything or seen him since.
I guess we should be thankful that these guys-who-happen-to-have-provided-TF-movie-scripts (sorry, I can't call or consider them 'writers') even remember who Barricade is considering the way he just disappeared from the first movie. Then again, with the superior attention to detail they paid to those little things like character names *cough*, they could very well assume we're inquiring about Brawlcrusher.
The way I choose to interpret the response on Barricade: "He'll be dealt with in the Movie, but we're not going to spoon-feed the explanation, but if you read into it based on what else is going on, it will all make sense." In other words, don't expect anyone to say exactly what happened or to see a flashback, but it may be alluded to. Then possibly the whole story gets told in some other medium.
So, in other words, Barricade will probably appear in the sequel, but what excatly happened to him during the finale of Part 1 will not be explained in any great detail. Good enough for me. Hopefully, Prowl will come along and kick his tailpipe back to Cybertron.
Thanks for the details of the comics for those who posted about them. I look forward to hearing some real new news about TFTM2, which hopefully we'll have by November when media promotion (i.e. teaser trailer, etc.) for the movie is purportedly coming out. I'm interested to know whatever I can about the characters ahead of time but don't want to become too exposed to the plot (which hopefully there will be a bit more of...).
So the guys-who-happen-to-have-provided-TF-movie-scripts write about Barricade's death in the highway, it gets adapted for the comic and the novel, and then either the Director or the Editor or both decide to cut the scene due to time/budget/whatever, and the guys-who-happen-to-have-provided-TF-movie-scripts are the ones you blame? Unfair... -airfox
