Nice photos of the dinocasettes! I never knew Zauru's legs had those tiny flip-out feet! I always used the tail and the head as his feet...
And btw, you can open up Dairu's legs more, the whole panels can come apart and give him a better stability in dino mode. (I have the KOs, of course)

 

Could you imagime how cool it would be if there were a bunch of cassette Autobots in the movie.

 

Thy're kind of weird in that they don't really touch the ground when the knees are straight. You have to bend his knees a little and lean him forward for them to do anything.

 

Man, I know the unifying leader class gimmick was evolution, but honestly Primal should've just been a two-pack if John Warden couldn't figure out how to make the gimmick work. The whole set suffers from the lazy backpacks that John settled for instead of designing the combination. What especially sucks is that little flaws make all three leader molds in PotP not work, with Optimus coming closest to working as all he needed was a blockier Orion. Oh well, at least this deco looks nice.

Prime has a truck mode thats ass in exchange for a superb Orion and combined mode. Rodiumus is the opposite. 2 superb vehicle modes at the expensive of the robots-and even then I don't totally mind Rodimus. Primal is somewhere in the middle where he doesn't do any one thing totally well.

 

"Superb" Orion? Orion looks like he has nothing to do with his upgrade due to all his inexplicable roundness, and looks as jank as he does to the detriment of the truck. He is the antonym of superb.

 

So my Retro Rock Thingy Whatsit Volume 1 arrived a few weeks ago, and it’s awesome, but my Uruaz seems to have been slightly misassembled or something. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

It’s the little black bit that connects his head to his neck. I’m not entirely sure, but I think they stuck it in the wrong way around. As such, it’s really stiff, especially when trying to fold his head back to turn him into legs. After only transforming him twice, the black paint began scrapping off. Also, the robo-foot that’s located right behind the dino-head won’t fold down the whole way as it clips the bit in question.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Came home to find my SDCC figures delivered to my doorstep! Had no idea they even shipped (no email notification), but according to the invoice, they shipped on the 14th. Hopefully everyone else who got their orders in will receive theirs by the weekend!

Other than the backpack, I think Orion looks good and is articulated.

 

The exclusives were so bad this year, actually don't really mind that I didn't win the lotto to get the opportunity to wait five hours in line for them. Op isn't a very good mold IMO, the paint job only really works here because of the uniformity, I don't actually care for him having his season 1 colors. Including the last prime masters with it is also the exact wrong way to do exclusives, don't withhold from the public at large things like that, use exclusives for weird or wacky things or something really cool that isn't necessarily a must have. The fact that throne is cardboard is also inexcusable for an exclusive, put some effort into it Hasbro. The other exclusive, that gold looks bad on Bee, I've heard not so great things about the mold as well. I genuinely don't care about the cassettes either and making them translucent doesn't really seem like the best way of reissuing them either, but those are at least something that makes more sense as a con exclusive than the last power masters.

The MtG exclusives had pretty decent art, but were based on pretty bad cards so....meh.

 

Jesus...these photos are REALLY nice. Some of the best toy photography I've ever seen on here. Very impressive.
