    Exactly what the title says:

'Transformers' Sequel Removed From Paramount's 2019 Calendar

So I guess part of me wants to believe that Bumblebee really will be a reboot that ignores most of everything in the previously released movies and this removal from the schedule is so Paramount can determine what to do after Bumblebee.

Or maybe Bumblebee is the last remnant of the TF movies and the next one (which will probably be much later) will be a full-fledged different universe.

    Who's to say?

    You should be.
    How dare you.
    What a disgrace.

I have no idea what you’re apologizing for, though.

Well, at least this comes from Paramount's side. Our previous reports were from Hasbro.

That's pretty much the final nail in the coffin and they know the writing's been on the wall for some time, now.

Stick a fork in it, it's done!

It also could be seen as a lack of faith in the Bumblebee movie. Perhaps they've seen an internal number or memo that utterly destroys their projections.

Actually, Bumblebee movie is the one that will reboot the series. Deadline has the original report. Check out the front page.

I wonder how much of a reboot we are looking at.

The major thing lacking from most TF movies is tight directing allowing for the movie to follow a very focus plot path and bring in engaging characters whether hero or villain.

The closest to a great villain so far has been Lockdown.

After Transformers 4 was said to be both a reboot and not be a reboot, I am cautious regarding anything about the continuity of future of Transformers movies.

Frankly, I just hope to enjoy any Transformers movie. I greatly enjoyed Bay's movies for the most part, and I hope to enjoy the Bee movie.

Honestly this is what I anticipated. I always thought it'd be weird to close out this iteration of TF with the Bumblebee movie. Would make more sense for this to spawn a new generation

HELL FU*KING YES!!!! Paramount finally grew a brain! I'm so proud!! :D
Maybe there's now a slim chance in hell that this franchise won't be the butt of
every single late night joke! :(  Maybe we can finally get the slightest shred of respect
given to our Robots in Disguise!!

I personally am not 100% in the "against" camp on the new Star Wars movies, but I definitely
feel those fans' pain as their franchise is thrashed around by arrogant, single-minded capitalists...
We've all been suffering for 10 years now with garbage not even worthy of being called cinema!!!

Also to Bay's minions on these boards, this is coming from someone who has spent $1,000+ at least on
Bayformers toys, owns and has seen all the films multiple times, and legitimately tried to squeeze a few
shreds of enjoyment out of this nonsense, mostly just by watching the TF scenes out of order over and over...

Still, like with Star Wars, there's something to be said for using restraint and not literally sh***ing out movies
just to make movies (which is how I feel about the film-a-year SW slate lately...) So I really, really hope they at
least wait 4+ years or so now before trying to reboot.

Uhh...I'm not too sure if I like the idea of Bumblebee rebooting the series. I know the idea has been tossed around here before, but it's never sat quite right with me.

Bumblebee still features stuff from Bay's film continuity. Sector 7, similar Bee head design, even the logo on Bee's steering wheel is the Bayverse logo.

If they're going to reboot, I feel like they should go all out and fully reboot. Cherry-picking elements from the Bayverse is kind of confusing, not to mention limiting to the new creative team.

I'm hoping this is just another "soft reboot" case. Like maybe future movies will feature a similar tone, but be technically set in the same universe.

Uh, I know the Bumbler movie was supposed to function as prequel to the others, so this is concerning that they are going to try to warp it into as some other rebooted version has me perplexed. "IF" this is the case then tampering with a film that was designed to be something else normally turns out badly. The writing has been on the wall for quite some time, too bad they didn't see it earlier.

Michael Bay was a Faustian bargain for the TF franchise. He was the best - and the worst - thing to have happened to Transformers.

i was not expecting this upcoming BB movie to be the initial phase of \"chapter 2\". i dont like it. im afraid to say the movie franchise will no longer favor those of us that grew up watching the original cartoon in the 80\'s. BB is obviously being used to cater to a much younger generation. im sure there will be g1 references here and there, but i doubt it will be much. all i envision at this point is a lot more of those really bad one-liners, and even more cheap senseless humor...

If this is true then I think I can relax a little easier. It was always weird that Optimus were going involved since neither were on Earth at this point in time yet.
