I CAN\'T DO THAT.

 

An animated Transformers movie... Set in the Bayverse. What a waste...

 

Those are my thoughts too... The movies themselves have taken a dump on their own lore and kept insisting on suggesting that the audience should "turn off their brains and just have a good time". Alright then, say that we did. Then why would we care now about a movie exploring something that we've been told not to care about? Why not take the chance to start anew, with a new lore, a new version of Transformers, a clean slate? Because dumb.

But... Is there any money to be made from a Bayverse origins movie? Who asked for this? Who would be interested? Not the casual audience, not a big part of the Transformers fandom either. I'm not even sure many of the Bayverse fans would be much hyped. It has never been what the Bayverse has been about. So, why make this?!?!? Would a quality non-Bayverse movie that maybe does some of what the fandom has been asking for for years lose them money? I really really don't think so.

 

What scares me is the doubling down they are doing on the awful bayverse. It's permanently changing Transformers for the future.

I think the main problem with the bayverse aside from all the plot holes, is the fact that TF5 made all the rich lore from IDW pointless and useless, a prequel changing this lore would sink the boat even more.


Kinda the same way disney scrapped alll the Universe Expanded from star wars, but worse.

 

I'd actually be fine with all Bayverse movies being animated going forward.

 

I think they misunderstood that we wanted more cybertron, not just cybertron. 

 

If that meant getting proper non-Bayverse stuff in all other media, then, I guess...

 

I find it amusing how much you hate the movieverse and yet your icon is a movie Decepticon symbol.

 

No it is not. But if that's all you can salvage from my arguments to satisfy your delusion, then have it.

 

Something tells me this how they're gonna soft reboot the movies from this point on. Bumblebee and this will have WAAAAY smaller budgets than the last 5 movies, meaning there's less chance of them being bombs, and they're probably gonna be aimed at a younger audience, so no out of the blue sex jokes or explaining what BBWByOb means to the kiddies while the Autobots call everyone a punk ass bitch.

I can tell judging by the eyes. The G1 Decepticon logo has triangular eyes. The movie on the other hand has the diamond shaped ones.

 

That is possible. But it's also bad. It's, essentially, life support. It's just, the Bayverse, putting on a kid friendly, nostalgia pandering, cost-efficient costume, so the producers can keep their hands on their cash cow.

Hard reboot or nothing. Enough of this.
