Spotted today in Smyths Birstall store near Leeds here in the UK, TLK one steps, deluxes and more. Deluxes were priced at £22.99 and the whole of wave 1 were there as far as I am aware. No voyagers or leaders in sight. 20170418_121607.jpg 20170418_121607.jpg 20170418_121559.jpg

Some were spotted at TRU in Canada a couple weeks ago but couldn't be purchased, but I saw them all at Walmart today and was able to purchase a few (Voyager Prime, Turbo Prime and Turbo Bee).

I guess it's marginally better than the £24.99 Argos had them listed for.

Though saying that, while I was having a nose about in TRU the other day, I took a look in the Marvel section and was surprised that the Marvel Legends 6" figures are also £24.99 and they're just ordinary figures (albeit highly detailed and articulated), so a similar price for a similarly scaled transforming figure suddenly didn't seem so unprecedented.

Let me see if I've got this straight - over twenty quid for a deluxe!?

In over thirty years of epic fuck-ups, Hasbro UK have finally nuked the fridge.

Absolutely the very worst kind of astonishing.

It's because they've decided to consolodate all pricing across the EU, these are the BS prices they pay on the continent these days and it's come over here.

It's actually cheaper to import which is ridiculous and more expensive than an imported TR deluxe and even more expensive than the TR Voyagers.

From a U.S. perspective; I\'m lost as to how Hasbro can justify the increase in price for these figures (in particular DLX\'s and Voyagers) when the complexity has gone way down, the paint apps have gone down, the size has gone down and yet the price is so (relatively) high.  I\'m looking at several of the new DLX\'s on my desk and although they\'re nifty looking. all of the aforementioned aspects would logically dictate at the very least a leveling out of prices year over year.  I\'m not asking for a significant drop in price (even though realistically this should be in order), but why the steep price increase each year?  How can you justify increasing the price (even given a decent rate of inflation) every year by leaps and bounds when everything that would justify that cost has decreased?

At one point the U.S. economy (i.e., its overall economy as well as the cost of producing the figures, etc.) could justify a steeper price and I rarely if ever complained about it, but when everything is going down from a production quality perspective even from the first and second years of producing the movie line figures a price of $20+ per for the 2017 DLX\'s seems like absolute insanity.

That works out to be around £23... as much a premier Edition deluxe over here.

The price of the voyagers (£32.99) on Argos and Smyths websites is the equivalent of $42.

Usually the price of the figures is literally the amount from the US price, just with the dollar sign changed to a pound sign, somtheyve always cost more over here but they're now bunging an extra couple of pounds on top it seems.

I've already cut way down on TF purchases because of the current UK prices. The even higher prices of the new movie stuff just means I'll not be buying anything of it unless it goes on deep discount.

Because they always seem to have some version of BB always on shelves when there's a new movie line. This one was probably a slam dunk as the design changes are minimal (the hood being just a re-shell in line with the new movie design) whereas as the new one will require more design time and may also help extend the line for future waves.

Wait. So you went to your Target, and you asked an employee for a TLK Voyager Prime? I'm tempted to try this but I would probably get told "no."
