This is definitely the way to go. For some reason IMAX movies don\'t \"WOW\" me anymore...it\'s just a big screen and the audio needs a major upgrade. Maybe it\'s just my theater, but I don\'t know. Dolby Cinemas are just much more comfortable, look great and sound great. The way the seats shake is way more immersive! I\'m gonna check it out first in Dolby and then in IMAX.
Sweet! I'm so jealous of anybody who will get to see it in a Dolby Cinema. The best I'll be able to see it is in IMAX which is a 3 hour drive that I'll be doing opening weekend. I'll probably see it in Dolby Atmos the first night in my hometown, but our Atmos theater kinda sucks, and they turn it up way too loud to even be able to tell where certain sounds are coming from, so much that the IMAX theater sounds better. But I can't wait for Dolby Vision and Atmos with the blu-ray release, my home theater is just about ready!
Holy hell, my local AMC has Dolby cinema and I didn't even know it! You better believe I'm taking advantage of that.
For anyone who doesn't really understand what this means here is a simple breakdown. Dolby Atmos is a new standard in surround sound that provided vertical sound. In the Cinema this is via speakers attached to the ceiling, at home via speakers (typically) that send sound upwards. Dolby Vision is a visual standard that provides a richer visual experience - brightness, colors etc. Right now not a great deal of TVs support this to my knowledge with the exception of the LG OLED series. More are focused on HDR10 which is a gaming standard and a rival standard of Dolby Vision.
Well, good for that, I guess. Maybe hearing the explosions in whatever new regard will further help distract from the considerable lack of good story telling.
Jesus christ, you guys would front page \"MICHAEL BAY TAKES COFFEE BREAK ON SET OF LAST KNIGHT.\" The sheer salivating over what surely will be yet another lousy movie from ALL the major TF sites is sickening. NOTHING against those who like the films, but the constant fellating of Bay and the film franchise, the tiniest bit of news receiving a highlight article, is beyond absurd.
Bayformers dont\' move the emotional needle for me.. BUT, I am happy to see more stuff that is Atmos capable.. I hope it takes off. I have a 7.2 system at home, but i\'d like to get Atmos as well, there aren\'t quite enough movies using it to justify more speakers and a new Receiver.. YET.
OLED is stunning... Once you see it, you can't unsee it.. a 65" OLED has been calling to me for a year.. but i can't justify spending what they cost right now.. but man they are gorgeous! I hope by next year they are more affordable..
They should drop in price significantly when the 2017 range hits. I have an OLED and yes there is nothing even close right now.
More excited about the home release as I have UHD, 9.4.4 Atmos, 20K watts of power and D-Box. No comercial theater can touch it.
