I think it will be some sort of universe hopping shenanigans or, less likely, a one off in just the Hearts of Steel universe.

I wonder what version of Cobra Commander will appear in this issue. The Hasbroverse one has been dead for a while, so it could be a new guy taking up the mantle, or the Hearts of Steel version of the guy.

if hearts of steel is canon then so is the x-files hearts of steel issue and that means the entire idw hasbroverse is part of the tommy westphall universe

Solicits make it sound like it's a brand-new one (and the last CC, Krake, was never confirmed dead).

Also, FYI, Revolutionaries #4 won't be about the Hearts of Steel/Cobra Commander stuff. It's been said there was a solicit mix-up; #5 will be all about that, while #4 is the Revolutionaries and Snake-Eyes vs. Predaking.

Ah. I did not know that because I am catching up on the G.I. Joe comic through the IDW Collection hardcovers, which are only partway into the Cobra Civil War, and I only started picking up single issues with volume 4. Is the newer Cobra Commander still alive? Because when I started reading, it seemed to be that the surviving twin was in charge of Cobra when it was dissolved.

I think all that was said was that Krake vanished after Tomax overthrew him. It's not been said for sure.
