I don't really feel like this one is different enough from the Hasbro one to warrant importing costs. Still it looks good

I do like that gun though. Does the Hasbro one come with that too?

The gun is a repaint of the transforming vehicle/gun/ape that comes with Titans Returns Titan Master Apeface

I know these Takara heads are more cartoon accurate but I think here I prefer Titans returns Wolfwire and Skullsmasher heads, looks more sinister! Although Takara really nailed the exact shade of g1 toy colors.

Doesn't matter if it's Takara or Hasbro because Weirdwolf looks good either way. He's so beefy and it looks like he has a very minimum amount of hollowness.

It seems to me that in the Japanese Headmasters series sometimes Skullcruncher,Weirdwolf and Mindwipe were very humorous and showed funny faces at certain occasions,I prefer Takara versions because faces on these toys have more anime style and remind well atmospheres of the toon.

The thing is more visible on Skullcruncher(I thought that Hasbro version is just more robotic but it's true, it's also more serious and sinister, shows well the evil Decepticon side, very good point allew!)and also Weirdwolf despite has less differences, for me is a lot better in Takara version, especially for visor.

Nice pics, hope to see soon also pics of Legends Mindwipe

Is it just me or does it have less paint apps than Hasbro's?

I agree. These literally square heads feel out of place on the more angular bodies.

I prefer the Takara faces on everything except Fortress Maximus, which is a big one (rimshot), Cerebros/Fortress, and presumably Deluxe Brainstorm, when we see that.

But for all these other Deluxes and Legends class faces, I am happy to be in a position where the Takara version will be easier and cheaper for me to get than Hasbro's. I prefer Sunbow accuracy over anything else, but I prefer Headmasters cartoon accuracy over toy accuracy, or some new unrelated take.

i see a big hollow section, right in the middle of his body, where the headmaster rides in beast mode.

the hollowness we all bemoan is still there. hasbro is getting better at making it useful.

This is one of the few where I prefer the Hasbro. Difference is fairly minor, but the Hasbro's cheaper anyways.

I'd like to get a good look at the TR face, cause what i've seen isn't clear enough to make an informed comparison. Regardless i prefer the somewhat darker yellow of Takara. But depending on the similarities of the faces i might get the TR version. And yes, we need to see pictures of Legends Mindwipe now. I am very interested to see wether Takara painted the wings brown.

whomever gives me the most cartoon accurate version is who I give my money too. So Takara has been winning this hands down lately. However they dont always win. I bought two hasbro Ultra Magnuses instead because hasbro was more cartoon accurate.

So far all the deluxes that were the original Headmasters have come with an extra Titanmaster vehicle (Hardhead, Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf) and those deluxes that weren't (Blurr, Scourge) haven't.

Nightbeat and Loudmouth from Wave 1 haven't had their accessory moulds used yet in Japan nor Brawn from Wave 2. Terribull from Wave 1 and all of Wave 2 have yet to have their Titanmaster heads appear in Japan.

For once the Hasbro version is the nicer one with more paint apps.

    This.

But having Skullcruncher in hand, I've gotta add: I really wish they went Voyager scale. The hollowness is one thing, but the tiny bots is another. These guys deserve to be BIGGER. Imo.
