I like the idea of using ebay to price things, but can you say "time consuming"? I would think, and this site itself is a testament to this idea, that with as many TF fans world-wide as there are that there would be a site or publication that would serve as a guide. I overpaid for my Starscream I guess, but I paid a price that I was comfortable paying for the toy, after all it is Starscream!!

I have been perusing the sales threads a bit and I have seen many a toy that I sure would love to own, but alas I am still unemployed and so there for have a TF budget of little to nothing.

As far as pricing stuff goes I always check for figures on ebay. What I do is punch in what I'm looking for and then I go to advanced search options and click on the 'Ended Auctions' choice and then search those. You'll find a good general idea of what certain figures are going for and if you buy from someone on the boards here you should be paying the average to below average price because ebay is the top end of the market value. Don't bother with buyer's guides because they probably aren't current and they diffinitely aren't free. You should be able to get Classics Starscream for around $7 to $12 depending on if it's loose or carded.

Also stores like comic shops and collectable stores are ALWAYS going to charge you more than a figure is actually selling for. The hard part is if you factor in shipping online stuff will just about hit the mark of Comic/Collectable store prices. The most cost effective way to buy figures is to buy a good amount from one person to cut down on shipping and they might give you even more of a discount for buying multiple items.

I always check the Item for sale and trade section of this board, but make sure you check up on that persons feedback, which is located in the Junkion Exchange sub forum. I always pay through paypal too which gives you at least a record of the money you sent if for some reason your package doesn't arrive

$18 for Starscream? that is too high. I try to get my figures at or below the market value. When I have figures for sale, I place them below the retail or market place. In terms of gals in the Portland area, I am the only one of this crew that I know of.

I believe that is the magazine that is supposed to have the pricing guide, a website called www.coldhardslag.com used to have the pricing info on line but then they revamped and removed that I have not found anything online since

tantrum: I got your PM, thank you!! You will be hearing form me sooner than later. On the subject of pricing, where can I go to find fair competitive prices on some of these TF's? Is there a site you all use? A friend suggested I pick up an issue of Lee's collectible toy magazine, but I cannot find the current issue here in Portland... figures.

I have a varity of figures available on my for sale thread - http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/items-...ergon-wst.html some less than retail and some more depending on rarety

Yes, I have been using tfu.info quite a lot as of late. I actually found Starscream and Cyclonis today ($18 and $13) out at All About Heroes. Somebody traded them in yesterday. So thanks to whom ever that was!! Lucs I will send you a list of my wants. The only trade I have is an extra Ice Cream twins which I picked up because I know it is one of the "rarer" ROTF figs. Speaking of rarity, is the first movie Arcee worth much? I am rather poor right now but soon I will be in the market for buying some more figures, so anybody in the Portland area feel free to PM me with your "haves"!! Thanks guys and gals!!

Yeah Acid Storm wasn't the most popular color scheme for the seekers, but it's cool that you found one. You can probably track down one of the Starscream decos for a pretty decent price right now in the items for sale and trade section. Most of the newer classics style are pretty easy to find below retail in that section too. If you have any questions about buying from certain members I might be able to give you the low down because I've dealt with a lot of them. Also if you want to send me a list of what you are looking for I might be able to track down some good deals on them.

If you've never been to TFU.info you should check it out. The site breaks down figures into any category you can think of. By name, year, series, faction, and sub-group to name a few

    It all new to me...
I found a Classics Acid Storm out at All about Heroes on 103rd and Holgate. $13!! Seems good to me!! ...of course I missed out on MANY years of collecting so this is probably more exciting for me that it is for all of you. They did have another copy of him out there.
